| Member ![]() ![]() | There's a great place called Altitude's that has the best freaking steak in Laramie, WY. It's a bit expensive, but I would imagine this is just the sort of occasion to splurge a bit. After that, I guess I'd just show her around and introduce her to my friends. Laramie isn't exactly a thriving metropolis. |

| Moderator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Digging up old threads eh? Welcome to the boards Godfather. I'm gald to see your activation situation has been resolved! Apparently I never answered this thread back 3 years ago, so I will... If Lacey came to my town, I would show her my condo. Of course I'd have to extensively clean it first. It's trashed right now. Then I'd introduce her to some of my friends, so they didn't think I was crazy. Then we'd do pretty much nothing because there isn't anything too excited around here except for some puttputt places and the local Cinema 16 :P Oh I guess I could take her regular golfing, or go to a beach |

| Lacey's Man ![]() ![]() ![]() | I remember going to Cedar Point one year, a LOOOONG time ago. My dad lived in Gary and took me and my brother across Indiana, on US-30, because he didn't want to use the toll road (what the heck does Indiana need with a toll road?) and we must've stopped somewhere and gotten turned around, because I remember we were trying to figure out which way was east and it was night. He said, "Which way does the moon go?" And figuring that because the moon goes around the earth more slowly than the sun does, I said, "It goes west to east." So from that (incorrect) assumption, we headed away from the moon, thinking that was east. I later realized my error, but by then we'd figured out we were going the right way. Had a great time there. But I'm digging this old thread up because I think it will serve a good purpose. Yesterday on my way through Missouri, I had the chance to stop at a GREAT place to take my fave girl. Back when I was stationed in Norfolk (Virginia), a friend of mine introduced me to the MOST AWESOME form of restaurant: Mongolian barbeque. Think of it as being a Japanese steakhouse (the third-most awesome form of restaurant, after seafood buffets) but with a stir-fry motif. Some Chinese buffets have a Mongolian bbq section, and with one exception (in Norfolk), they have all been poorly done; PLEASE don't judge Mongolian bbq on what Chinese restaurants do! (Please also don't assume Chinese buffets are representative of seafood buffets, either; Norfolk's blessed there too.) So anyway, about 3 years ago, I passed through Missouri and noted there was a Mongolian bbq there. I'd been searching for a GOOD one since leaving Norfolk in 2001 and had NO LUCK. I saw that one, and noted it, but never got the chance to stop by until yesterday. HOLY CARP!!! It was awesome, even better than the authentic ones I went to in Norfolk! (Or it could be that I just missed it that much.) Over the past few years, I've managed to get into a habit of eating a LOT less than I used to when I was growing up. Unfortunately, that worked against me this time, because I could only eat two plates full, but my tastebuds were crying out for more. So the next time I take Lacey through Independence, Missouri, we'll be stopping at BD's! Where will YOU take her? Last edited by wannabe; 03-03-2009 at 08:21 PM.. |
