Crazy-Turk, this isn't Lacey's official site. She doesn't have one.
But whenever anyone posts here it logs that persons IP address. If Lacey were to come here and post then her IP address would be logged. Pretty much only the admins of this site can see that information (maybe moderators too) but the fact is, no matter how kind those people may be, Lacey does not know who they are cannot risk having her IP address attainable by possible hackers who know how to get into databases (its all beyond me really). With information like that people may be able to track her down and find out what computer she is posting from. Now I admit that would be a difficult task for the "hacker" or whatever, but it's better to be safe then sorry. If Lacey were to one day obtain an official website (maybe through her talent agency or something) with proper and trusting security then I'm willing to bet she would post sometimes when she wasn't busy.

yeah, well you might "****" them up if they track you down, but Lacey may not be so confident that she can...

Couldn't she get a firewall for added security measures? Also, isn't there any software which keeps IP addresses hidden? Some message boards I go to have an option of keeping that stuff hidden; however, those sites won't keep cookies.

Very good point. I think the best and easiest way to avoid security issues is keeping your computer as up to date as possible. If you're using Microsoft Windows then this is Windows Update.
