Lacey's Personality

I'm wondering what you guys think Lacey's personality is like? I'm sure she's nice, but I'm talking about is her mentality. She strikes me as a very metropolitan person. She doesn't seem the type to go camping or get dirty doing something. I could be wrong, but I just realized that any candid pictures you see of her, she's either "on the set" somewhere, or out shopping and very trendy stores. She also talked about "swallowing $400" when a cell phone doesn't work on Kilborn's show. That strikes me as the sort of thing a person who spends a lot of money daily would say. What do you guys think?

I also think she's very 'chic' herself. A socialite who dresses appropriately at any occasion or event. Her image is angelic all while maintaining a beautiful picture-esque to stare at all day. She's very sophisticated in the category of dressing up, and I love it. Half of the reason I like her is looks alone, so I'm happy anytime Lacey looks good. She looks maaad hot in that pic with her dogs. And in that pic when shes layin' across those three guys.

Hey illmatic, which picture where she is laying on three guys are you referring too? I haven't seen that yet.

Anyway, as far as her personality goes, I would comment that it falls somewhere between very social and inquisitive and a certain private nature. She has commented on herself in the past that she considers herself to be rather boring and very much a homebody but that is something she may have grown out of. Maybe she's more valley girlish than we realize (I doubt that though).

I don't know if I should be one to comment on such things. Socially, I'm kind of a hermit.

The picture ill is referring to is from a magazine called "Hollywood Life." It can be found on the Lacey Web website.

Again as I pointed out in some earlier posts, she is much shyer than she was in the late nineties back when I had a full-blown crush on her. In fact, yesterday I was at the local library in the magazines/periodicals section looking through some old TV Guides and I read an interview with her from the August 1996 issue. This is perhaps the perfect example of doing a then-and-now comparison. In the interview, she is outgoing and definitely not shy about guys. I mean, she is a typical 13 year-old (pushing 14) in that interview.

It's kind of hard to determine the exact point where her personality changed. I don't know if it's maturity (probably could be) or if the older she got and the higher in demand she got as an actress, she just wanted to have her space. Perhaps it was circa 2000 when she did those posts at the now-defunct LaceyOnline page. That for me would be the exact vantage point for me.

I still like Lacey (but as a fan), and seeing her talk show appearances is still a treat. But I just wish she would lighten up a little more. Not lighten up where she makes her life worse, but not be uptight when she is asked questions about boyfriends or other personal stuff. You're not gonna get stalked, it's just typical talk show fun. As Frankie Goes to Hollywood would say, "Relax." Otherwise we love you.

I agree with you JPHQ. She has grown rather uncomfortable when asked questions about her personal life. That is the only real drawback about Lacey for me. Like, when I watch the Jay Leno appearance when she was 15, promoting the film Lost in Space, she was much more comforatable it seemed. She talked about a crush, her first boyfriend and kiss. She was really cute. It has dawned on me that Lacey has become shyer, but not to the point it makes her unnatractive to me. She's sort of like me actually. Except I get stage freight. I can't talk in front of large groups. I still respect Lacey, always.

About her getting shyer.She's smart enough to know the more info she releases about herself,the more the media will twist that info into making her look bad.That's what they do.Or maybe she thinks her personal life is noone else's bussiness unlike other celebrities who all they do is tell everyone who will listen every detail about thier lives in an attempt to keep them in the spotlight.Maybe Lacey wants her talent to speak for itself and not have her personal life the reason people stay interested in her.

I remember those posts, and how everyone thought she was an imposter and recieved the ire of the very people who idolize her. Your truly included. It was only later after she stopped posting (I think there might have been 1 or 2 posts afterward) that Dallas Jenkins said it really was her. That may have turned her off to sharing herself with her fans so much.

This makes a lot of sense if you think about it. Why are most celebs famous today? Sure, their movies garner them some amount of name recognition, but what do we remember about them? It's typically their antics off-screen (I point to Michael Jackson, and Woody Allen as examples). On the other hand, the actors remembered with most fondness, are the ones that have stellar acting careers and live "good" lives (that is- not joining the spouse-of-the-week club or other Hollywood rediculosities). Charelton Heston is a perfect example. He lived a consistent life, and we all remember him mainly for his role in "Planet of the Apes" and as Moses in "The Ten Commandments." Of course, there was his activism in the NRA for several years too.

While I can understand the reason noone beleived it was her but if it were me as the non-beleiver and I later found out it actually was her,the way I am,I'd probably still not be over it.I hope she also realized why noone beleived it was her.

Yeah, it did get kind of ugly, but she hung in there. She posted on the boards sporadically till late August 2001. But as I was reading those posts, one of the posters apologized for their actions because they really thought it was a fraud. However, she tried her darndest to prove it was really her by throwing in some clues and all. It didn't come easy, but it was a rather interesting period of time for her fans.

i wonder if anyone has transcripts of the old boards..or an archive of it. i'm interested in seeing what went on.

I tried going to archive.org--they have the main page archives, but they don't have the message boards cached.

Untill September actually. The posta she did in 2001 was like night and day compares to the ones the year before.

In 2000 she mentioned everyone by name in replies to questions and posted several times. She said stuff like your poems are so beautifull RodneyGilbert and stuff like that.

While she was ignoring a lot of questions the next year and did hardly mention anyone by name.

She answered the question that she was Christian in every single mail even though we all knew the answer.

I think you really messed up that time. I wasn't there in 2000, but if i were, I'd probably belive she's Lacey. It would mean A LOT to me, if i'd get a contact with Lacey, if you understand me.
One thing I don't understand is, why did it get ugly? Did people that are SO mouch of Lacey's fan start throwing bad words to her? Yes, that's really good way to go. You missed a lifetime opputunity to talk with Lacey, to be not just her fans but also friends. Maybe I'm wrong because I wasn't there, but after I readed upper posts, I think some people own Lacey an apology.

Chances are slim that it wasn't Lacey. So don't feel so bad about how you acted then. Even if it weren't her, a piece of my mind would convince me it was her and I would believe it, even if it wasn't her because it gives hope and a feeling like none other. I'd love to be able to contact Lacey, even if it's not her, it's the next best thing. I guess those were some good times when Party of Five was still on. If Lacey ever reads this, there are still loyals fans that respect you. Don't be turned away by the littlest negativity. We care. I'mout.
