| I read the original article and it was pretty intense. But I am skeptical for two reasons: 1. Tina Fey wrote the screenplay, and while she is great on SNL News, she has loaded the film with other SNL people that I don't particularly care for. And all movies in the last decade based on SNL ideas, or with SNL people, have flopped. 2. Production was completed in under two months. Isn't that kind kind of fast? Of course, I wish beautiful Lacey all the best on this latest endeavor. |

If you're looking at quality journalism, The Daily Show is the best there is. Tina Fey and that annoying Jimmy Fallon pale in comparison to the work Jon Stewart is doing with the fake news. Also, it seems that Tina is smart enough to realize that she has limited on-camera appeal and is sticking to a supporting player role in the movie. Objectively, the SNL movie spinoffs of the past ten years have been rather weak. Will Ferrell and Tracy Morgan are cool, but none of the current series regulars can hold a candle to top performers of the eighties and nineties like Dana Carvey, Mike Meyers, and (RIP) Phil Hartman. I don't even think Will can measure up to the standard set by first-season cast members like Bill Murray or John Belushi. Based on the synopsis, it's clear that "freaky" Lindsay Lohan is the star of the film which is a shame. My guess based on Lacey's position in the credits (third or fourth) is that she is either the main rival or the best friend of Lindsay's enemy. She'll probably have more lines than in Not Another Teen Movie. If she's playing the best friend, it will probably be the same amount of screen time as in Lost in Space. I would find it hard to believe that she is starring as the main antagonist. After all, if you were dating Lacey, would you dump her for freckle-faced Lindsay? ;) [ December 11, 2003, 02:04 AM: Message edited by: Barings ] | |
