I just checked on one of my hometown's websites and found this to be quite strange. Scroll down and look under "Daddy Day Care" and you'll see what I mean. I thought her hometown was an hour away from here in Purvis, Mississippi? [ June 29, 2005, 01:11 AM: Message edited by: IIDX Lacey Style ]

No dude, she was born in Purvis, Mississippi but she has family roots in Louisiana. She has, I guess you could say, some cajun blood running through her veins. Her last name itself is French, the last syllable of which is pronounced BEAR as in shuh-BEAR not BERT.

Ah, I see. Well, I'm rather glad that I live here; where her family roots started. My friends and I usually go to Hattiesburg a lot and we pass through Purvis to get to it (Purvis is about a few miles outside of Hattiesburg). I usually freak out my friends when we pass up the huge sign that says "Purvis" and I'm like "Lacey! Lacey! I wanna see Lacey!" I wonder if she's ever gonna visit Hattiesburg (again), Purvis or New Orleans soon. I'd really like to meet her. And yes, you're right. I cringe every time my friends say "You've got a crush on Lacey CHA-BERT!" I just yell back at them "It's SHUH-BEAR! It's French!!!! Get it???" *le sigh* [ June 29, 2005, 02:35 AM: Message edited by: IIDX Lacey Style ]

It had been mentioned in the past that Lacey returns to her home state occasionally to visit her family and friends. Who knows, you just might get lucky. Of course I'm still quite envious of Shaun having met her at that mall event thing (but it's a friendly kind of envy you see?)

A while back Turtle Creek Mall, giving away autographs and whatnot. But that was before I was a fan of her. I really am confident that I'm going ot meet her one day. By the way, about you hering that she visits her family from time to time, where did you hear this? And you and I will be like Shaun soon. We'll both get our chance.

I forgot exactly where I had learned about this. I either read it in a magazine or heard her speak of it in an interview. Sorry, I can't remember which. Not to truly dash on your chances and mine of ever meeting her but as the credits on her filmography grow and she becomes more busy, her visiting will probably be fewer and far between (besides, I live in Chattanooga, TN, a lot farther away than it sounds like you luckily are). She is appearing in four films that will come out in some way, shape, or form within this year or the next (Dirty Deeds, A New Wave, The Pleasure Drivers and Fatwa)in so much that they will either go directly to video or come out in very limited release in theaters. So more and more roles are headed her way, although I don't know that any of these are supporting or leading roles in the movies.

Yeah, I am really glad that her success grows bigger and bigger as we speak. We just have to keep our eyes and ears open for an opportunity to meet her. I know that our chances may be slim, but they're not impossible. If I only knew about her coming here awhile back when they were shooting "The Scoundrel's Wife" ...agh! Oh well, there may be more in the future.
