| Kreukoholic ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | See, I tend to agree with Nathan about personal values...but in this situation I would think the "values" question would have come up much earlier. Agreeing to a movie like this it isn't hard to predict what the target market will be, the people who grew up playing Street Fighter are typically male and around the age of 20-30 now. To not market to this group through mens magazines would be somewhat irresponsible from the production company's perspective as you're ignoring a very valuable advertising opportunity. It may not be right, but its the truth. There are many different genres where you can avoid this, is she just not getting offers for those parts? |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think just advertise for the new generation of nerds in magazines like EGM. I think there are other ways to promote the movie. I highly doubt a mens magazine would make me want to go watch a movie. Unless the movie had ridiculous amounts of hot girls naked. |

| Newbie | I've seen this line of thought on several forums and in the blog, but I disagree. The audience for that type of magazine are already gong to see it because it's based on a video game. She won't bring in anyone new. I don't think she necessarily needs to do a men's magazine either, though I wouldn't be bothered either way. A somewhat sexy shoot for EW would be more effective than a photoshoot aimed at geeks. |
