Default Kristin Kreuk in "Partition"

Here's the official website for this independent film: www.partitionthemovie.ca

Kristin will be playing Naseem. It also stars Jimi Mistry and Neve Campbell. Here are a few pics

credit to kristinkreukespana.com and the official partition website

The film was said to start screening in festival's in spring (right now) but there hasn't been any sightings of it yet. Although, I heard on kristinkreukweb.com that it would get released in theaters sometime in November.

It got posted over at Just Jared in late March. It has the rest of the pictures and the trailer to the movie as well.

Angry Kristin Kreuk in "Partition"

Major disappointment... at least where I live. The annual DC International Filmfest roster is out. This year, 84 indie films will be shown in various venues about town from April 19 - April 30th. Of these films, five are from Canada, but Partition is NOT one of them.

Its bad marketing to not have yer indie film ready for release by the Cannes festival in May, especially considering Partition wrapped last September. Its hard to believe we really will have to wait 7 more months to see this film. I've never heard of a film taking more than a year from its wrap date to release. Feels like Vic Sarin might not be too well connected in the industry. Maybe he did this deal on a shoestring budget. Bummer.

I'm sick of hearing different things... one being that the movie was due to release in spring, then that it was going to surface in Film Fest (yet none of the Film Fest have any word of showing the movie) and now the movie will be released in November.

I think it's cool that in the fan community there's a lot of buzz about her in this film. It's slowly moving out of this area and Smallville fans(who may not know of Kristin's prior work) are becoming aware of it too.

Condemning them all like isn't cool. Sure we know what we know and stuff, but Kristin took this movie and part with an open mind. I hope her fans can do the same. I think this is a great choice for her to do. It's got historic meaning, the story's got substance, the characters could have really existed, and it sounds like the movie at least has some kind of message to it. Don't pigeonhole Kristin so quick.

I don't think either one of us are familiar with that way of life, and especially how it would have been when the movie sets it. While things are changing over there with women's rights, the view on the veil and stuff is still mixed between some traditionalists(which include women) and the next generation of women there. Things are changing. It's not the way of life you or I have grown up with or been around though, so I know I can't speak about it with full knowledge and information.

I just don't see Kristin taking a role she doesn't believe in or take it just because she wants to get paid. That's not how she works, and given her track record seems fairly clear that's how it is with her.

Whatever your perception of Muslims and Islam, Kristin took this part because she loved the script, believed in the project and story, and to challenge herself. She didn't lower herself in any way to me. Reread her Diary entry on the Partition site, she puts it's better than I can.

I love this part. I admire her the same reason. It says a lot about her to do that.

I like that she did it for those reasons too. Risky is definite. You made me wonder if she might have some kind of backlash from the role for those who are unfamiliar with her or how she picks projects.

Wow, I had no idea you were Muslim Learn something every day.

Thanks for understanding, btw.
