| Yes, I too geeked-off to that extreme. I wrote her a letter awhile back, over a year. I thought it was a silly thing to do even back then, but i still went ahead and did it. I didn't ask for an autograph. Matter fact, i think i asked that she not send me one since i have no interest in it. So i got no response what so ever. She probably never read it. It may have been a bit weird, yet completely inoffensive. If there's people that screen her mail they may have just thrown it out. I was just kinda rambling about stuff. Meh. What do you mean by "special"? Like if i was a dying child? |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hmm...I don't find it geeking off at all. What I wrote was sincere, and I wouldn't waste my time doing it if I didn't mean it. That would just be pointless. If you appreciate someone, you might as well tell them, regardless of whether they are a celebrity or not. Being a celebrity doesn't necessarily make someone a better person than someone else because they've been blessed with more material goods and attention, and I'm sure not all celebrities think they are, and certainly do appreciate the fan mail they receive. Anyways, I just wanted to know if anyone else had received anything, because like I said, I don't regularly write to celebrities, and was wondering if they actually read all of the fanmail they receive, or like the previous poster just have someone scan the mail and send a post card with a fake autograph, or just toss what the scanner doesn't deem as fit. "Special" implies subjectivity on the part of the celebrity/scouter, so I guess if you do receive a response at least you know you've touched someone, though not necessarily the celebrity, and leave them with "Times of Thought". | I don't doubt your letter was sincere at all, as was mine. And the geek off comment was aimed at myself. I was just never comfortable with the fact that i wanted to speak to her and knew so little about her. If it was mainly based on her looks, i'm not happy with that for myself and that's what i meant by geeking off. Which only meant silly in the way i was thinking of it. Since i didn't know much about her back then, and still don't, i'm left wondering why I would go out of my way to try and communicate with her. She always did seem very nice and thoughtful, but I don't try to speak to everyone I think that of (I've never tried it with any other celebrity). It was selective and more than likely for a silly reason, along the lines of a crush. Anyway, no offense. I speak only for myself. And I never did get anything back, I guess my wasn't "special" enough. I wish you better luck. |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | What I meant to say was I don't think what you did was geeking off at all, and I did know that your intention in saying that was to be self-deprecating. The fact is, no one knows anything about anyone until they start talking to them to get to know them better. How the hell would anyone learn about someone then? ESP? ;) And just because you're attracted to her physically and wanted to write something to her because of that does not render what you said as silly. I mean, seriously, what guy in this forum does not find her physically attractive? There is no reason to self-doubt yourself. There could be a multitude of reasons why you got no response. I mean, you don't even know if she reads the letters. Either way, any good that you do to another person reflects on yourself, even if the one receiving it doesn't appreciate it. Hell, you may be the famous one someday and people may be writing you fan mail. You never know. [ June 22, 2004, 08:24 PM: Message edited by: SultanOfSix ] |

| i wrote a letter to kristin a month ago. i dunno that i'll get any response from her or not, but i just write to her cuz i wanna do it. i'm also a huge fan of a singer in my country. her name is nicole theriault. many people sent letters to her and got responses from her. she read and replied all letters by herself. she also gave her phone number to some of her fans and send msgs to them. this is true and i have proved it. i maybe off-topic but i just want to say that some celebrities read fan mails and do their own replies. also as SultanOfSix said, though you don't get any reponse, you are still happy and feel good to write and let someone know that you love and care them a lot. ;) |
