I think Kristin is a very normal person as stated in the first post. I really don't think that the fact that she's now a famous TV actress has gotten to her head so I'd say she's pretty down to earth, friendly and nice.

And because she has stated that she is quite passive and anti-social and made reference to the fact that other girls at her high-school thought she was snotty, I believe that she probably wouldn't be the easiest person to get along with - not in a bad way, just difficult to get to know her.

I think she knows she's gorgeous and hates the attention she gets for being that beautiful which we can see in that scene in Snow White where shes says "Beautiful. What is that? I hate that." She was so 'real' in that scene, so much so, that I got the feeling that she had a close affiliation with her character (and I couldn't have come up with a better choice to play Snow White by the way!)

It's equal parts refreshing and frustrating how normal KK really is. Same goes for Tom Welling I suppose. Both exceedingly good-looking young stars who somehow avoid headlines, tabloids, gossip...and big or good movie roles (unfortunately).

When people say "[Insert name of big star here] is just a normal person like you!" it usually just means they own less than 3 Italian seaside villas. But KK (and TW) are two big stars who truly are normal--often to the point of boredom

Although you can say they're successful, KK and TW are hardly "big stars". The WB gets at best one-third the viewership of the Network stations. As such, they're less than mainstream. Someone like Mila Kunis of that 70's show is recognizable to more people than is Kristin.

That KK/TW have avoided the gossip columns and are therefore 'boring' in the tabloid sense is precisely BECAUSE they both shun celebrityhood. ;)

Well, they have the potential to be big stars. You can't underestimate the appeal of The Superman Universe--WB viewership be damned. Besides, look at Hilary Duff--Disney Channel gets a fraction of WB viewership and yet she's still huge. It's all in the marketing and career moves.

KK and TW just choose not to go that route, unlike other teen starlets (many on the WB Network) who do lot of publicity and make lots of high-profile appearances.

Yeah, totally. That was precisely my point. They're two people you'd take home to Momma!

I wouldn't describe Kristin or Tom as being boring.
You refer to them being boring from the perspective of the media. Just because they keep their lives private does not mean they are boring. Being quiet and free from scandal can only be described as a good thing as far as I'm concerned. I hate the media. Getting involved in all the media 'hype' is lame and self obsessive.

Being 'boring' is good.

Edit: this is a new low for me. i may quit after this one.

KingPin: I agree. I thought it was pretty clear I was joking about the "boredom" part. Hence, the smiley.

Come on, guys...
