The WB is having regional casting calls for all you would be actors or thespians out there. You need to contact one of their affiliate stations near you to find out if they are still open. I know that some affiliates in the Midwest still have an open casting call out there but it's probably going to be over shortly like possibly this weekend. Some stations down South and out East already have had their casting calls and the winners have been chosen. The local winners of each casting call get a gift certificate that they can use at a local mall. They also have the video tape of their acting sent to the WB in California for a chance to win the grand prize of a trip to LA for two and $5000 and a chance for a walk-on part in a WB show, hopefully Smallville. How it works is that you get one shot at reading/acting a short script from a choice of three WB shows: 'Smallville', 'The Gilmore Girls' and one other which I think is 'What I Like About You.' At least that's the information I got from my local affiliate...could be different elsewhere. And you need to bring a friend to play the other character in the script or it is possible to find somewhere there to partner with. One drawback is that you have to be in a certain age group, such as under 30 or somewhere around that age. Which leaves me out plus I don't have any acting ability whatsoever. So, anyone on the forum that has an interest, get out there and try it. You have to act soon because it's going to be over real quick. It may be over in your area already. Another thing is that they usually have these casting calls on a Saturday which is coming up shortly. It would be cool to have someone from this forum win, wouldn't you agree? One final thing is that that the old WB website had a little more information on this, but I can't find anything on their new site so you'll have to call your local WB affiliate.

When I was on the WB's old site there was some information pertaining to the 2005 casting call which I can't find on their new site. The old one listed different affiliates that were involved in this contest but I don't think I saw any Canadian stations. So maybe it's only a US contest. Sorry man, not fair to our good neighbor to the north. Check out this local affiliate in Norfolk, Va. for further proof: http://www.wtvz33.com/contests/casti...05/winners.htm

Tough luck... they film so many good american shows and films in canada but most of the auditions take place in US and here they just get the extras. Even if someone might be interested, you'd need to send a tape through a reputable agent to US. Theater groups is fun and good experiece, sure, but it's really tough and it pays  if it pays. "Acting " for commercials is just ridiculous, I just don't look at the details of the offers when i get them not to be tempted.

There is always a chance. I just don't know for what specifically you need that chance. With acting, most of the time, it's just hard work and resolve if you want to get somewhere, unless you are Kreuk. She got frotunate, but she can't rely on fortune only, and she does not. She is getting very good at her work. If you have money to provide you with safety cushion in the beginning it's much better. You need money to hire a good agent, good demo tapes, headshots, photoshoots, workshops and acting camps. That is unless you look like Tome Welling and people pay you to take your pictures while you are building a portfolio. It makes sense to land a good job first and than look for an opportunity to land a good role.

I was travelling in it during a good time. Your pics are very beautiful and the poems very... intellectuals. Your home can be an inspiration for mine. Congrats. Only a tip: leave a space for Kristin. But why comedy is just a drama in disguise? I agree that it's very difficult to act but there are people that born capable to make other people laugh. There are people that born with a funny face and with a simple look, the people laugh. When the actor acts, the people laugh and it's all. It's a doubt. They are laughing to me or of what I did? | |
