| Jensen Ackles who plays Jason on Smallville has been picked up for a new series for TheWB. Meaning he won't be on Smallville next season, meaning this is Jason's last season, YAY! From TV Guide: SOUNDS SUPER SPOOKY: Ex-Gilmore guy Jared Padalecki has been cast opposite Smallville's Jensen Ackles in the WB drama pilot Supernatural. The show centers on two brothers who encounter all sorts of weird creatures while on a California road trip. Sounds more like a quick trip down Hollywood Blvd. to me. ________________________________________________ of course we heard this on that site.. but is this the main reaosn why they had that lex password contest wow.. if os i should have entered..... i am a loss for words..... |

| point is he aint a decent actor for the show i can see it. you just do not see how i see it, i can say.. he is better thna kk or he is not and sub par it's my mouth and my opinion. point is when i see him on the show he does not belong. maybe i aint used to him. like lionel in season 1 hardly was there so i gave two ****s when he came more often i liked him but this dude i do not want him on the show.. he makes it suck ass..... and for the character he is playing a ma ma boy, whom does all he ma ma acks and is probably a pawn and not really her son, or something... makes me hate his character more, jesen ankles tried playing the character... but it seems that he had touble playing the part cuz i's badly written and agian, i say he's subpar. and therefor efor the character. thye need to find out what actors they should mix in the show... before along with what characters to write in and what not... and he is sub par again. |

Well yeah, Jason is just too boring of a character and in my eyes, JA sucks at actually portraying any kind of emotion. [ April 13, 2005, 04:58 AM: Message edited by: Disguy23 ] |

| yes, the Jason subplot has totally sucked. boring as hell, and it has dragged the whole season down. the witch thing is more interesting, and they should just let that be. Lois is a good character when she's used well. i agree that she has been used perhaps too much as a gimmick, but i think she's a much more interesting (and better-acted) character than what's-his-face generic guy...... she and Lana should have some excuse to have shower scenes. now that would revitalize the show. Well, I'll tell you something. UNLESS you have watched Jensen during his time on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, or DARK ANGEL, you have NO RIGHT to say he's a "subpar" actor. Because he most certainly isn't. Actually, he's more talented than Tom Welling. You would have seen that, IF he was the star of the show, but he isn't. Even when he isn't though, he's pretty damn good. He was awesome along side Jessica Alba. My advice, borrow a copy of Dark Angel, watch for his appearances. He was AWESOME. | Yes, he is of the "saying your lines while being obscenely good-looking counts as acting" school of acting. Otherwise known as WB Drama School. Spell, Scare and Sacred were three of the worst episodes in my opinion. When did this show become a clone of Charmed? Clark is still a young adult! He isn't supposed to be battling ancient spirits, mystical artifacts, etc. Smallville is supposed to be about his most human years. Instead, all we get are crazy fanfic stories about witches and medallions and caves and other contrived garbage. Aside from the Jor-El/Swan mythos, I don't think there really shouldn't be that much supernatural storylines on the show. This supernatural focus has ruined KK's role on the show. She was perfect as the unattainble, beautiful, yet quietly repressed girl-next-door. Then at the beginning of Season 4 they randomly decided to make her a sassy, annoying little diva. I'm fine with character development, but her character should do exactly that. Develop! Not just change over night. [ April 17, 2005, 01:42 PM: Message edited by: kodos88 ] |

| kodos88: Maybe you should take the time to watch his performance on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, and DARK ANGEL, and various other roles he has had before you develop this strong, very negetive opinion of him. Jensen is not just a pretty-boy actor. He is good at what he does. Sure he's no Johnny Depp, but there is NOT many DIVERSE actors out there who can take ANY role and live it to its fullest, to the point where the audience BELIEVES it, and lives it themself. So comparing him to someone like that is ridiculous to begin with. As far as Clark goes, it's likely before he was Superman, officially I mean, that he would have gone through such ethereal experiences. Considering he WAS AN ALIEN. As for Lana's role changing over night. Uh, well if you think about it, TIME FLIES in "movie/series" time. So it's not like a week or a months have gone by in one Season, more like a few years!!! | Mmmh maybe not a few years -- I mean not in one season anyway! Considering that the show is actually supposed to somehow relate (more or less accurately) to the actual real time/year when it's broadcasted. Therefore that should imply that: one season = one year, approx. I guess -- as a matter of fact, for instance, being the 4th year of Clark & co. in Smallville High, we already know that next season they're all supposedly gonna be in college, you know... | Haha, I was just kidding around there. I really don't have anything against the guy (in fact, I said he was a better actor than KK!). I just think its frustrating that of all the possible ways they could have improved the show, they decided that adding another good-looking person on the show would be best. Jensen actually does a decent job of salvaging a meaningless role. Quote:

| Well, I still do not feel that the show Smallville is too far off from what Clark Kent's life could have been like, had they made comics about that -- I don't recall any, but then I stopped reading after Superman was KILLED by Doomsday, because apparently he was reborn as Superboy, Super Kid, etc etc etc. So this whole sureal stuff with witches, caves, freaks of the week, and what have you, I would rather see "superman" go through that stuff, than to see him DIE and come back as five(?) other versions of himself. Not sure if I still have it though. I wasn't even a comic collector or reader. I also didn't know Supes came back after he died. Shows how much I know. | |
