| Keira Mod ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | DO NOT POST PICTURES HERE! If you want to post EoL pictures please post them here. Here is an article I'm sure you guys will love: Keira Knightley will sing on the soundtrack to her upcoming film The Edge of Love. The album will feature tracks Knightley performs in the film, including 'Blue Tahitian Moon', 'Maybe It's Because I Love You Too Much' and 'Drifting And Dreaming'. The film, a World War II period drama, stars Knightley as Vera Phillips, a woman who falls in love with Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. Last year Knightley admitted she struggled with the role. "I can't really sing," Knightley admitted. "I had to have a few lessons, but once I started doing it, a sound emerged that wasn't too disagreeable." Suggs, Siouxsie Sioux, Patrick Wolf and Beth Rowley will also contribute to the soundtrack. The Edge of Love is written by Knightley's mother Sharman Macdonald and directed by John Maybury. Matthew Rhys (Dylan Thomas) and Sienna Miller (Thomas' wife Caitlin MacNamara) co-star in the film. |

| Keira Mod ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Keira singing! I've found this new clip of Keira singing Blue Tahitian Moon for the new movie. It doesn't really sound like her...the voice doesn't fit her, but every news article has said it was her voice so I dunno. http://community.livejournal.com/kei...14.html#cutid1 |

| Keira Mod ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Keira says no to Mummy It's hard for mothers to stand up to their daughters, but spare a thought for Sharman Macdonald, whose little treasure is Keira Knightley. Sharman told her daughter that she had written the part of Caitlin Thomas specifically for her in the screenplay of The Edge of Love, a film about Dylan Thomas, but Keira had other ideas. “I said ‘you’re playing Caitlin,’ and she said, ‘No, I like Vera,’” says Sharman. As a result, the part of Vera Phillips, who was one of the poet’s love interests, was altered. “She wasn’t even a singer until Keira decided she wanted to play her.” Daughter knows best. Source Not surprising. She did the same thing in Atonement. The director wanted her to play Briony and she refused, instead wanting to play Cecilia. |

| Keira Mod ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think they wanted her as the older Briony which would have cut down Keira's screen time a lot as well. I am glad she made that move myself. Movie news! Keira to play in My Fair Lady? t’s all a bit tentative at the moment, but Keira Knightley is said to be lined up for a new film of My Fair Lady, currently being produced by Duncan Kenworthy and theatrical empresario Cameron Mackintosh. The story centres on lower class, ****-er-ney flower girl Eliza Doolittle (Knightley, it is hoped) who is taught to speak and act properly by stuffy linguistics expert Professor Henry Higgins. The film’s being called an “update”, but it’s still going to be set in 1912 and will use the original score. The “update” will involve going back to George Bernard Shaw’s play Pygmalion, on which the musical is based, in order to “dramatise the emotional highs and lows of [Eliza] Doolittle as she undergoes the ultimate metamorphosis under the tutelage of Professor Henry Higgins”. There’s also talk of a more “realistic” context for the story, using real locations rather than soundstages, and Mackintosh also drew a parallel between Doolittle’s transformation and current celebrity culture. There are no further details on the project yet, but we’ll be keeping an eye on this one. And in the meantime, the upcoming Edge of Love shows that Knightley can do accents (in that case, Welsh) and sing, so check that out to form a better opinion of her chances as the new Audrey Hepburn, who last played the role onscreen. Source Keep in mind she's been wanting this part since she heard of it a few years ago. However the director said he didn't 'need' her. Now it's circling on Keiraweb.com that the reason he wants her is because he heard her singing in The Edge of Love and wants her again. That's the rumor anyway. |
