I didn't like this movie first time around, but I watched it again today and I loved it! I guess it's cause I finally got to watch it from beginning to end without anyone dragging me away.

I would have liked it better had Jules and Jess really been lesbians though. It would have added a twist and made the storyline more interesting.

However having that would just put a sterio type on all women sports players. That's basically saying they can't be in sports unless they are dykes. So I see why they changed the idea from lesbians to straight at the last second.

That said, was it really true that the original storyline was that Jules and Jess were lesbians?

i love this movie. I never heard of the original storyline having them as lesbians though, but if it did, i don't think i would like it like that.

It is true yes. But that wasn't the reason. The director was concerned the film wouldn't appeal to an Asian audience if she included the romance between Jess and Jules, so she shifted it to a heterosexual romance.
