| The Wicked One ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Here are some reviews of the show...Thanks to Scott from KCS! My 2007-2008 TV Season Pick #3: "The Big Bang Theory" (CBS) It's no secret that primetime sitcoms have taken a serious hit these past few years. In fact, the highest rated comedy on TV lately has been "Two and a Half Men," and that alone tells you how sorry a state comedy is really in. Be prepared, however, for a return to "funny" this fall. As well as the return of Kaley Cuoco (happy day). The Big Bang Theory, set to air Mondays on CBS in the 8:30 timeslot, is a new comedy all about life through the eyes of two geeky nerds. Or is it nerdy geeks? Either way, aside from it being a sitcom airing on CBS, the biggest reason to check this out is Kaley Cuoco (8 Simple Rules, Charmed),who makes her return to television with a starring role as the hot "girl next door," opposite the know-it-all geeks, played by Johnny Galecki and Jim Parsons. The premise of the show may not seem that appealing just from what you read, but trust me ... give CBS's wickedly funny trailer a chance. Kept me laughing the first four times. Plus, the characters of Leonard and Sheldon are a great pair, and juxtaposed with Cuoco's character of Penny, you've got on your hands a fresh new comedy with some serious potential, a show that can only be described as being "too smart for its own good." Here is a one line review from Marc Berman, who is the television critic for Mediaweek magazine. He wrote this in his forum. I am sure he will have a much more detailed review at a later date :I absolutely loved the pilot. Great chemistry between the characters. I will definitely be watching. I recently received a Fall 2007 Preview disc which included pilots from most of their new shows for next fall. One of these shows were the Big Bang Theory. Before watching the pilot I have to admit I wasn’t expecting much from this show. I thought it was going to be another average comedy. After watching the episode I was amazed at how wrong I was. The Big Bang Theory is a great comedy. |

| The Wicked One ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Another review..... found this critic in New Orleans, who wrote something today from the TCA Tour. I hope at least some of the print media critics like the show, and here is one. Here it is : Quote: Statistically speaking, almost nothing succeeds in network TV; "Heroes" and "Ugly Betty" were the only new scripted series from the last broadcast TV rookie class of dozens that anybody besides critics much cared about. But the future looks brighter this fall. I'm picking up good vibrations from quite a few of the pilots I've seen so far. I'm hoping these make the cut and stay around for years: ABC's "Pushing Daisies" and "Dirty Sexy Money," CBS's "The Big Bang Theory," CW's "Aliens in America" and "Reaper," Fox's "The Return of Jezebel James," and NBC's "Life," "Chuck," "Journeyman" and "Bionic Woman." |

| The Wicked One ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Review from Bruce R. Miller, Entertainment Editor or the Sioux City Journal : Quote: THE BIG BANG THEORY (CBS) -- Johnny Galecki (remember him from "Roseanne"?) and Jim Parsons play roommates who can't believe their good luck. A hot babe (Kaley Cuoco) moves next door and actually seems to like them. They try to shed their nerd ways (watch the friends who show up) but can't quite make the transition. Parsons is particularly fun and the friends have the ability to steal episodes and win viewers. Better than last year's "The Class," it could be CBS' biggest comedy hit in years. Now, nerds just have to watch |
