| From www.backstage.com: Banks, Weisz Consider a Yes to 'Maybe' August 15, 2006 By Borys Kit Elizabeth Banks and Rachel Weisz are in negotiations for "Definitely, Maybe," a romantic comedy from Working Title and Universal Pictures. Separately, Banks has snagged a lead role in "Joe Claus," Warner Bros. Pictures' Vince Vaughn comedy. Written and directed by Adam Brooks, "Maybe" centers on a soon-to-be-divorced political consultant who has to answer some hard questions from his 11-year-old daughter as he explains his promiscuous past. Ryan Reynolds, Derek Luke and Isla Fisher already have been cast. Banks will play Reynolds' college sweetheart who dumps him for his brother, but the two reunite years later. Weisz will play a woman Reynolds dates after Banks. Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan are producing "Maybe" via their Working Title shingle. Liza Chasin and Bobby Cohen are executive producing. Universal's Donna Langley and Dylan Clark will oversee the project for the studio. "Claus," being directed by David Dobkin, stars Vaughn as Santa's loser brother living in New York who returns home to the North Pole and almost ruins Christmas. Paul Giamatti, Kevin Spacey and John Michael Higgins also are in the cast. Banks plays Vaughn's love interest, one of Santa's Little Helpers, who is hyper-organized. Jessie Nelson is producing the comedy with Dobkin. Banks, who will next be seen in Disney's "Invincible," which opens Aug. 25, recently wrapped production on "Bill" opposite Aaron Eckhart and Jessica Alba. The actress, who is best known for her roles in "Seabiscuit" and "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," is repped by UTA and Untitled. CAA-repped Weisz, who won a best supporting actress Oscar for "The Constant Gardener," will next be seen in Darren Aronofsky's "The Fountain." She is shooting "My Blueberry Nights" for Wong Kar Wai. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maybe I'm having a brain fart w/all her projects recently so refresh my memory: "Bill?" Don't remember that one unless it snuck by me or they have her confused w/someone else. |

| I remebered this. But yeah with all these projects it's hard to keep track of them all and who's in what and so forth. I just can't wait for Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer and Sin City 2. The Ten sounds good and Good Luck Chuck sounds good also. Plus Awake might be pretty neat. Damn, thats like everything she's doing right now anyway. LOL!!! cheers Last edited by Lobo; 08-16-2006 at 08:52 AM.. |

| Senior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I reread the article, and it mentions Wong Kar Wai. He's very good at what he does despite never attending any formal film class. Plus, look at all the actors he's worked with: Nicole Kidman, Rachel Weisz, Jude Law, Natalie Portman, Ed Harris, Robert Downey Jr, Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Zhang Ziyi, Maggie Cheung, and Andy Lau. I praise this man for his hard work and dedication. |
