"HALO" Speculation

This is total speculation outside of the director announcement so take it as such:

Evidently there are plans to make a movie based on the XBox game "HALO" w/Peter Jackson's crew producing and one of the guys that worked on cinematography for Dark Angel helming the show. There haven't been any cast rumors outside of Denzel Washington that I know of but the movie's slated for 2008 release. I haven't played the game myself but the protagonist is a guy as far as I know in charge of a military group defending Earth from invading aliens.

Not sure if any women exist in this universe but what's the forum feeling if they tapped her for a co-starring tough military (think Vasquez from Aliens) role in it being the helmer knows her well from DA? I think it'd rock but, like I said, it's purely for topic discussion w/no founded proof to it being an option so don't take this as "happening" for Jess.

Cortana is the only female lead in all the "HALO" Games. But she is a computer program & is only seen as a hologram or just her voice is heard.

Don't even see enough information here to speculate that Jessica has even thought about this. Looks to me like it would be a waste of her time and energy.

this is just one of his fantasy's and his way of turning her into some action star and nothing else

Also, if this guy working on one episode of DA is such a big deal, why isn't Jessica a regular on Entourage, because one of the main director's is the director of Entourage. If thats a big deal, seems like she'd be on their all the time.

Jess was Vincent Chase's co-star in "Head On" on "Entourage". She was on the poster and everything. Keep in mind that this is how the show starts. However, I do find it odd that she wasn't shown on the pilot episode where the guys are at Vinnie's premiere.

JAL, I really don't understand why you've suddenly decided to target everything I post w/such venom but whatever I guess.

I got the impression from the article I read that the guy was a worker on DA for the whole show's duration. That certainly changes the dynamic a tad.

I think w/all the videogames and comic book movies getting made this probably wouldn't be a good move but Halo has such a HUGE following that it could be a minor success depending on the stars involved. If they've got Peter Jackson involved you know it's not going to lack for budget so they can afford a few big names like her if they chose to do so.

Agreed on the videogame stuff. I still kinda like it but I spend more time getting my butt shot off/whooped in them than I used to so I don't really play any more.

But, if they made the movie good like Starship Troopers or Aliens it could be sweet and make mullah which is always great for her if she'd be in it. I do see the point of pidgeon-holing her you're making but, like I've said before, Hugh Jackman's already in that spot and is it so terrible to be considered a money-maker that's hot? She can prove her range in other things at the same time if she's smart which she is.

people would just hate her more andthey created a character just for her.

i don't know why your trying to make her a pure action star. people need different ranges and thats what she's doing with a vary of differet movies. not just all where she plays the bad ass chick. you gotta think about what everyone else and what they want not just your selfish needs.

Well, I think she is best in action roles whether you like it or not, JAL. Yeah the other type movies are okay but I'm much like Czman in that I don't really care for movies like that are drama based and kiddie like. It may be selfish but hey at least I like the other action type roles and movies she's done.
