Katie Holmes is reportedly fuming with fiancé Tom Cruise after he cast 'Sin City' actress Jessica Alba in his new movie.

(BANG) - Katie Holmes is reportedly angry with fiancé Tom Cruise for casting Jessica Alba in his new movie.

The former 'Dawson's Creek' star is said to feel uneasy about Tom spending long hours in the company of screen beauty Jessica while filming 'The Eye'.

Katie is allegedly feeling "upset" and "isolated" after the 'Top Gun' actor overlooked her for the leading female role.

A source told Britain's Grazia magazine: "Katie is feeling unsettled. She is not happy that Tom has cast Jessica in 'The Eye'. He is escorting her around Los Angeles, introducing her to the big movers and shakers, the people who have not even noticed Katie yet."

Katie's alleged jealousy stems from her inability to shift her post-pregnancy weight.

The source added: "It doesn't help that Katie is feeling really dowdy. She's going through a period of transition as she struggles to get her body back in shape."

This is just stupid on holmes part. what she just expected to get the role cause shes gonna get married to him. thats stupid. you should have to earn a part just like everyone else. you sghouldn't be handed stuff. thats the worst thing that could happen to a person.

kinda seems like she's with cruise so she thinks she should be getting all the big parts? thats dumb i knew there was a reason for this. she's just trying to futher her career by getting by on him and his past work.

what does everyone think of holmes reaction to this?

This is where a situation with Alba being with CW is WAY more respectable than "TomKat" because at least Jess has worked her way to the top and where she is at now. Like you said JAL not just have it "handed" to her. It does kinda make you wonder what the heck is going on with them? And where is there baby? Maybe Monique ate it? Who knows? But it is quite foolish for Holmes to get upset over something like this and I'll tell you why. You would think she would be more upset at the fact that he casted Jess because she is super duper fine and all that jazz. Not because SHE wants to ressurect her mediocre career.

Maybe this is her way to try and get off "The Cruise" before it's too late.

Kinda have to take this with an entire bag of salt. This is the media reporting this... read the exact quotes from her / her reps... she doesn't really say she expected the role to be given to her... the reporter does though. The jealousy thing is an issue... and I'm sure an issue for anyone who's not looking their best and has their significant other out all the time with a hottie. No surprise - look at all the celeb flings that start because of time spent together on a movie.

Even if nothing happens, jealousy or at least insecurity plays a part in their world. They have it worse than us if you think about it. Still though - this could be blown out of proportion by the media... sometimes gotta read their quotes and leave it at that.

So, you guys can find the conspiracy of Katie being post-pregnant jealous of Jess but you can't see my reference to Tom being domineering in this project and possibly subverting Jessica's success in it as a result? All-righty...

All I can say if the Holmes stuff is true is pregnancy hormones run wild like Hulkamania, I know from personal experience, and the weight stuff is even more touchy during that time than it usually is w/a woman which is saying a LOT. Tom should be spending more parental time than working but that's just him and a thousand other guys, I guess, so I can't blame him. Now, if his agenda w/Jess surrounds other things despite previous rumors being shot down by Jess.....

Man, you guys make it sound like you can't trust any media source no matter where it is or who it is. While I agree the media is biased and you shouldn't trust the proverbial "source close to the situation," speculation is really all you can do sometimes since the stars don't come out and immediately refute some of this stuff. A good example is the supposed proposal of CW to Jess. If the media or whoever is really making false accusations or implying things that'll hurt you, I say you need to come out and clear the air or sue like Jess did w/Playboy. Another really good example is the steroid accusations in baseball. Otherwise, us as the fans can only rely on assumptions an appearances and repeatedly say "If this is true..." in our statements. It is what it is and we've gotta live w/it, I say.
