"Into the Blue" Sequel?

She’s indubitably been asked, but don’t expect Jessica Alba – nor her bikini, lamentably – to return for the sequel to last year’s “Into the Blue”.

Yep, MGM have announced a sequel to the mildly-successful John Stockwell directed actioner – about a group of scuba diving friends who have an unfortunate run in with nasty treasure hunters – but as it’s simply a DVD sequel, you can pretty much rule out any ‘names’ – though it shouldn’t take much to get Scott Caan or Ashley Scott back? - from partaking in a return visit to those calm blue waters. Casting to begin shortly."

I say bravo for passing on it if this is true, Jess. Would only add fuel to the fires that she's a one-trick pony in a bikini IMO. No word on Walker returning, though. He doesn't have much to do lately so it wouldn't surprise me to see him headline it.

I can't imagine another woman playing Sam. Good thing she passed because I thought the story ended well the way it did.

And why would they too? it ended just fine.

into the blue 2 is as un needed as Road House 2 was.

You mean 2 Fast 2 Furious?

i'm sure he's not gonna return and its gonna have nobody from the first and its not gonna make any sense.

I really enjoyed the movie, but I'm glad she's not going back to that. I'd be ok if she was going to do diving, in a way that someone who was a shark wrangler would, and that is with a dive suit, not a bikini. Unfortunately we know that would not happen, and it would simply be ass shots again.

plus she's way too busy now. she made that in start of 2004 before she blew up in status.

Into the Blue 2 would be a dumb sequel. She is already gonna be in enough sequels. If they made and Into the Blue 2 just get some new actors to play new parts. Kinda like how they are doing with the Dukes of Hazzard sequel. (Yeah, I know. Stupid.)

i also liked 2 Fast 2 Furious

but a sequel to ITTB with out alba or walker will be dumb.

same without having SWC or knoxville in the dukes 2,

and i liked the dukes movie.

Totally off topic at this point, but as someone who watched the Dukes of Hazzard TV show religiously, the movie sucked in my opinion.

Well, since they were a couple it would be even dumber to have one and not the other. That would be even worse to have neither IMO at least for storyline purposes. If they had Jess in it but no Walker or vice versa it'd be like, "They split up after all that?!?! WTF?!?!"

So i guess i'm the only one who loved that movie then.

I think I could support a sequel to ITB if they made her the sole heroine in it, not just the "girlfriend" heroine like last time. If they made her dump PW's character for a new life and get her mixed up in some other adventure it'd have the POTENTIAL to have more of a Die Hard sequel-like quality to it which'd be good. And it'd have to concentrate less on the sex stuff too. But, since it's going to be straight to video if it happens, it's good she's staying out.

i just see no need for a sequel what soever. everything worked out fine. she lived happily ever after with her man and they found the boat they wherre looking for. there set for life. no need to turn it into some die hard rip-off.

Well, I'm not saying it SHOULD happen, I'm just saying if it does it'd have a better chance for success than the "love under pressure of treasure hunt" theme it had in the original. That thread's spent. Her character'd need to develop in some new surroundings/adventure of some kind. But, it's a mute point since Jess isn't involved I guess. I guess I'll rent it just to see it anyway. Heck, I rented Hollow Man 2....

I saw Hollow Man 2. Dukes of Hazard 2 is going straight to DVD also. Jess aint got no business in movies like that. She is meant for the silver screen.

it's just a movie not every movie needs a sequel. and i thought the love conquers greed concept was a cool idea. i mean would you leave a love one for treasure or say forget about the treasure?

she don't need to be a badA** action chick in every movie.
