According to "Cosmopolitan" magazine, Jess wants to play a lesbian character in an upcoming movie.

After seeing the success of Brokeback Mountain, it was reported that Brad Pitt wanted to do a gay character too.

There is no punch line to this... this was really reported.

I think a lot of hollywood people like to play charactors so they can do things that they are nervous about doing in real life. With the excuse "I'm playing a part in a movie". Or they think it's possible they could end up being nominated for an award if they do it good enough.

When I first read it on IMDb, I was hesitant. However, Leno mentioned it in his monologue, and it supported it. I just have to find that article.

It is in the Cosmo magazine. The one with Fergie on the cover. The first part is from the writer. Jessica wants to play a lesbian. Her actual quote is "I want to play someone with completely different sexual orientation." The title right before that one sentence is Jessica Alba is straight, she's dating Cash Warren. Then theres a small pic and then the quote. Its in an article called "30 things I found out this week in Hollywood" not word for word that title, but you get the picture.

This isn't the first time I reported something from word-of-mouth. Remember the "Entertainment Weekly" issue? I didn't have any article on it, but heard it on "Extra".

I told you guys before, for her to get noticed by the Oscar party crowd, she's going to have to play an alternative or screwed up character at some point. She recognizes that and has it in her plans, which is smart. I wouldn't place any bets on there being any sex or nudity in a role like this if she chooses one, if that's your bag that is. The character will be a "real" gay person just like they pushed in BM to continue to prove to us everybody and anybody could be gay and we need to fight the stereotypes again (sigh).

I think she's going that route solely to prove herself and finally get some acting cred from those snobby critics out there that control these things. It sucks she has to do it, but it's smart on her part to manipulate the game this way. Rook takes pawn, check I say (and no, I have never understood chess but it sounds good, don't it?)!

I'm not into "word of mouth" so to speak. I'd rather see it for myself, or a source. But thats just me.

Apparently, you did see the article first hand.

I'm still trying to find that article to satisfy those who are looking for a source. If I can't find it, then see for yourself in the issue.

Also, it's at one's own discretion to believe whatever they hear, see, read, etc.
