Dark Angel was a cult hit, but it didn't have the raitings that FOX wanted and Firefly came out and FOX felt Firefly can bring some X-Files type raitings. Plus the Producer of Firefly was a family member of the owers of FOX, so they bumpped Dark Angel and put on Firefly.

9-11 had something to do with it too, because season 2 wasn't as dark as season 1. It was more mythology of Max than her living life and stuff.

I bet if FOX gave DA another season it would still be on right now.
