Take this for what it is worth but the New York Post reported today that Jessica is slated to play Jeannie in the movie " I Dream Of Jeannie" along with Jimmy Fallon playing Major Nelson...

Kate Hudson was supposed to play her but she turned it down just this week.....

Ok, so this is how it goes:

Jessica Simpson -> Offered Role First; Turned Down
Kate Hudson -> Offered Role Second; Turned Down
Jessica Alba -> Unknown

Wonder who else they are going to offer it to if Jessica turns it down too.

According to The New York Post's gossip section, Jessica might not return to do the next FF movie because of this role.

wow she'd be backing out of an already-signed contract for F4, no ? What happened to Sonic ? I wish she would move forward with that - it would qualify as a "broadening her range" role.

I'll believe it when I hear it from her. Every recent interview with her that I've seen leads me to believe she has every intention of doing the sequels. Given the money the first one has made, she'd be crazy not to do it. The last thing she needs to do is another stupid, pointless TV remake.

Another thing. She's under contract for two sequels. Breaking that contract would leave her open to a possible lawsuit from Fox. She stands to make $7 million for the second and upwards of $10 million for the third. If those figures are accurate, she'd be a fool to throw away that kind of money for something that most people will probably forget about in 2 weeks.

I totally disagree w/you guys. Sticking w/FF is a good move for maybe one more movie but I see it turning into a Charlie's Angels type of sequel situation. They actually mentioned something about adding in the Fantasticar, I mean how campy would THAT be? I have no idea how the contract stuff would shake down but I could see her doing one more. Anything more than that COULD get her type cast. Even the second, if it goes the Angels route and tanks due to people not being as interested, could hurt her and now's not the time for her to be gambling too much.

While I understand Jeannie is a gamble in itself, if anyone could be an actress people would go see even a potentially crappy movie for it'd be her. Personally I really think it'd be great to see her do the role as it'd show she can do comedy as well while possibly carrying a movie doing it. It all depends on the script. I'd also like to see Fallon replaced w/someone else that could help carry the movie better. Jim Carrey'd be awesome in it and make it an automatic win but Fallon adds to the flop potential. Regardless, she needs to keep branching out.

Apparently all sources every where have confirmed this rumour.

I just don't know about this for her.

She has shown she is versatile but I still think this might be a huge gamble for her.

I still think if there was any role she should do is play Wonder Woman, if it had to be another TV-remake.

I think it might be due to her "maybe" needing to go blonde again. Not a huge fan of it.

Then again it could be like another "Bewitched". A new re-vamped "Jeannie". But we all know how well that went for Nicole Kidman...not very well.

This would be a huge mistake. There's no way this movie is going to be a hit. It will be another Bewitched. Jessica needs to do a romantic comedy not a chessy remake of a chessy TV show. It could put the brakes on a career that was heading straight through the roof. Don't Do It Jessica!!!!!!!
