I didn't read that exact correlation in the Bedside Astrologer, I guess it's believable, but I can't say I'm as well-rounded as my music is. For me, music is a reflection of your surroundings and influences growing up. Having 4 brothers all older than me w/the closest in age being almost 38 gave me everything from Aerosmith and Tom Petty to Bobby Brown and Michael Jackson. I found Soundgarden and Nirvana on my own. I'd say personality dictates my own music on a daily basis, I think, rather than the other way around. Some days are Drowning Pool days, other days are Mellencamp days, other days I need a good woman like Nora Jones to soothe me. That's the only place I guess one can't label me.

As far as Jess is concerned, I'm not sure how smooth riddems and hip hop correlate to her self-confident, open personality.

Maybe but I bet it's a nails-on-blackboard Bob Dylan-free Dark Ages at least. Have to have some understanding of European fans, and I'm not trying to be rude here really, but they don't have the same shows we do or music so it's natural for them not to know. I actually ran up on some people in the Eliza Forum that didn't know what Reading Rainbow was and almost passed out thinking I was just really old or something.

I think I said I was not trying to be rude, REALLY, if you read the post. That's why I mentioned the Reading Rainbow thing because I thought they must not watch TV at all but was told BY SEVERAL EUROPEANS that TV and music were quite a bit different over there. I don't know what foreign insults you're attempting to sling my way but the last time I checked this forum was open to opinions, not blatant insults. If you claim I'm part of the young people that have bad names my question would be how old are you? I'm 27, not 12. I don't hate Dylan as I've said, I just believe he's overrated and I DARE you to explain to me how the guy has a good voice (his lyrics may have been good but he should've found someone else to sing them). I'm also very open-minded if you look on my posts regarding these things as I have said I like lots of music from Hendrix and The Doors to The Eagles to Metallica to Ryan Adams and Pete Yorn. I don't believe I merit anything close to these personal attacks but obviously you're not a regular so I'll turn the other cheek and be a man about it.

His voice was different, doesn't mean he couldn't sing - just because he doesn't have a convincally good voice, i.e.hes wouldn't get pass the first round of american idol,doesn't mean he doesn't have a great voice.his voice suits his songs perfectly.would you rather listen to bob dylan or rubin stoddard or whatever da ghouls name is?

Definitely the best songwriter of all time imo, no question.
