Everybody get the latest edition of "OK!" celeb magazine. They've interviewed Jess, given her the cover, and everything. It's a pretty good mag especially considering it's not as ferocious as the tabloids on the invasion pics or seedy articles. The main articles are usually surprisingly intimate portrayals of the celebs lives. A past one interviewed Cole Hauser and his fiancee' and a recent one Michael Madsen and his family. The celeb tidbits mention small FYI things not "Moss found doing dope" or something. Can't wait to read today's w/Jess in it as apparently they ask her about her opinions on marriage, nudity, etc.

The only thing that's annoying is that when asked what she likes in a guy she gives the answer EVERY WOMAN IN THE FREAKIN' FREE WORLD GIVES and said "Confidence and a sense of humor." Sometimes I think they should make a T-shirt for that for women that says "Confidence and humor always wanted: apply within." I've NEVER heard a woman, famous or not, give anything that strays too far from that response when asked what they want in a guy. Women are WAY more selective than that, I wish they'd have the guts to admit it. Even guys saying "Nice personality and attractive" is more honest as we all know it usually comes down to the latter for them in the end.

Haha, of course it's not only that even though that is an important feature in men. You know us very well so I don't even have to type it all down, sure you know what specifically turns us on although we're quoted as "hard to figure out." Agreed 100% Z Man, Jessica Alba isn't only looking foward to a guy with confidence and a good sense of humor. ;)

| Senior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Pop quiz, hotshots... You're in the spotlight with a single question and you have 3 seconds to come up with your first thoughts... and you must not appear shallow because all of your friends will hear/read this. What do you look for in a guy / girl ? Go. and that's why people give those kinds of answers... sure you could come up with something more if you had time to sit down and write it out... or thought about your answer beforehand... but when you're 1) put on the spot and know that 2) everybody will read it... it's not so easy to say what you really wanted to say. The sense of humor thing always comes to mind easily. [ October 02, 2005, 08:07 AM: Message edited by: rh71 ] |

While I initially agree w/your premise, RH, the fact remains that Jessica has never had a problem w/what other people think of her. While you can't say, "I love a nice butt and a bad boy personality," you CAN say "I like big guys w/broad shoulders and spontaneity" or the like and still not come off as shallow to everyone. That's not that hard to think of "on the spot" as she's probably been asked that question in every interview she's done to a degree (FHM, Maxim, and Stuff ask it of every woman in their mags, for instance) so it's a pretty common encounter. The all too real fact is that everyone's too afraid of not being PC and hurting each other's feelings. That type of response makes a man believe if he acts a tiny bit cocky around a woman and tells a few funny tales to make her laugh she'll go out w/him even though he looks like The Elephant Man. Ladies, just tell us what you want so we can at least ATTEMPT to accentuate those inherent qualities in myself if possible.
