| hahaha! This is funny, from a user critic: Quote:
I've noticed that most of those who gave a bad review just have one post on Yahoo Movies, which to me it means they're idiots who's opinions mean nothing. And most are young ... can easily tell by their usernames. They're just up to trash the movie. I might go and see it this Sat or Sun. If I do I'll come back here and be totally honest. | I went to see Honey early this morning. This movie is definitely meant to be some kind of Hip Hop Flashdance type movie. Flashdance was like one long music video, and Honey is no exception. There was a lot of fast editing with as many scenes as the director could put in, with only enough dialouge in the scenes to give someone the general idea behind the story. Jessica Alba danced quite a bit and looked really hot doing it. Everyone should at least see this movie once. |

| Just saw the movie last night and I can sum it up in one word..AWESOME!!! Jessica did a unbelievable job in this movie and so did her co-stars...Mekhi Phifer played his part great and so did all the guest stars in it like Little Romeo, Tweet, Missy Elliott and all the others...A great movie. I give it a A++. I know I said I'm not into Hip Hop and I'm still not but I do admit that some of those Hip Hop dance songs had some great beats...but I'm still true to my rock roots and I also said I wasn't into dancing types of movies but this is one I'm into now...Everything Jessica said in her interviews about the movie was true...I found myself pulling and feeling for Honey in the movie. I even became a little teary eyed at the end. I really enjoyed this movie alot and liked it better than The Sleeping Dictionary. She also said you would leave the movie feeling upbeat cause it was a good movie with a positive message and that is defiently true..I left the theatre feeling more happy and uplifted. There were about 50 people in the theatre I was in..kind of small but it was also a early showing at 5:05PM December 5, 2003, but alot of them were cheering at the end of the movie and they got into the fight scene between Honey and Michael Ellis when he called her a b**** after she slapped him cause she wouldn't put out..was kind of funny...a bunch of people yelled out "Oh no he didn't" LOL but that's exactly what Jessica said they were shooting for, to get the crowd involved in the movie and they sure were. Jessica if you see this I just wanted to say..You rock girl..AWESOME job on the movie and your working hard really did paid off cause I think this movie was a big success for you and everyone else involved..No matter what the numbers show and I thank you for all the hard work you put into the movie..I commend you on the training you went through in those 3 months, you said in some of your interviews it was some very hard training but it had great rewards and it shows in your dancing how good it paid off for you. You did a great movie and I'm now looking forward to your next project "Into The Blue" and the future project "Beautiful Killer". Everybody needs to go see this movie (I'm going to see it atleast 1 more time maybe more...I liked it better than Tomb Raider The Cradle Of Life)...It is really great and just like Jessica also said...It's a fun movie for everyone  |

| I couldn't see it yet because of the storm here in the northeast, but I will see it as soon as possible. But I was wondering if those who did see it could answer a couple of questions: was the theater full? Were there a lot of people seeing the flick? How did the audience react? Did they seem to like it? [ December 06, 2003, 12:44 PM: Message edited by: nelamvr6 ] |

| i saw an earlier show cuz i couldnt wait (5:20) and it was half full but it was the only big movie at the theater and when i left the theater a lot more people were in line to see it but yeah so anyway, the crowd was ALL into the dancing, the crush/love scenes, the smack scene and the funny parts, even the old people in the back liked it |

| Senior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Posted this on the other board as well... Despite the absolute blizzard out there, my fiancee and I went... (it's too bad for Honey since it's losing out on some $$$ here in the northeast)... surprisingly, there was a good 20-30 people in the theatre - 7pm. My fiancee had her doubts going in (she's not a JA fan by any means), but came out actually saying it was a good movie... not just ok... she said it was good. I thought it was at least a solid grade of B. Some scenes and the general knocked-down-but-not-given-up thing have been done many times in many movies so that's probably the only knock I have against it. Still, Jess did a GREAT job playing the role. Mekhi was kinda just thrown in there it felt like, but like I've been saying all along, at least he gives the movie some credibility (for those who didn't know JA before). Solid B for sure. |

| I was watching Ebert & Roeper this morning. They both gave Honey thumbs down, which I fully expected. They did say it was "likable" and that younger viewers would enjoy it a lot. But they both said that Jessica has a "great screen presence" and that she is destined to be a big star on the big screen! Quite a complement coming from those two! |

| I saw it today, and it was okay. I didn't really like her partner. I really liked the kids and the dancing coz I love to dance as well. The plot was okay it wasn't the greatest and it wasn't bad. I really love the dancing though. |

| I have seen it twice this weekend and came away both times with the same opinion. Jessica is unbelievable in it, but I feel they left some good parts of the story on the cutting room floor. I know this is a movie about the music video business, but I think they focused way too much on the videos. I think they should have placed more of the story in Jessica's hands. When they focused on Honey, the movie was really very good. Jessica did mention in some interviews that they left parts of her portrayal out of the movie. It was a movie that made you feel good and I hope when the DVD comes out some of the deleted scenes are in so whe can get more of the story. I also wan't to make special notice that I think that Jessica Alba is the hottest female in the universe. Her smile is so infectious and that alone was worth the price of admission. |

| I think the movie was average at best, but that's certainly not the fault of Jessica, who did an amazing job with a fairly cliche script. Her screen presence is incredible as was her dancing. I do hope in the future she gets to do movies with better scripts. I don't think the whole romance thing worked at all and they probably should have stuck to just the dancing and Honey's story instead. Still, it's good to see it did pretty good at the box office and I do hope it makes money so Jessica will continue to be offered some decent parts in the future. |
