Most of the posts about Love's cameo in Tropic Thunder were made back in November and December of 2008. You'd have to do a search to find it. I had to wait a while in order to purchase the DVD since it was a very expensive Blu-ray when it was first released, retailing for a ridiculous $39.95

There was a reference made to her in the film, but I can't remember the quote.

There was indeed. The character sitting with JLH at the Academy Awards (Jay Baruchel, I think) is one of the actor "soldiers" who had gone through the filming of the jungle war that is the main plot. In an earlier scene, there is a lull in the action and the actors/soldiers are taking a break around a fire and reminiscing (just as they would do in a classic battlefield film), and Baruchel asks Robert Downey, Jr., "Are you still dating Jennifer Love Hewitt?" The question comes from out of the blue and was, for me, a laugh-out-loud moment (Downey's answer about how he couldn't put her through the ordeals he would have to endure in his career is equally funny).

the problem is ive been checking this forum almost everyday for four or five years. i just did a search and i found some of the topics. i just searched and found a couple topics on it. i can't believe i missed it. Her cameo doesnt even appear on IMDB and none of my friends told me about it. And i know a couple of them saw it and they know how much of a fan i am. Anyway, thanks for the information guys. I'm gonna rent the movie whenever i go to the video store next time.

Besides being funny, beware that it's a very vulgar movie so if you (or a family member or friend who may be challenged) are easily offended just have your remote control handy. I loved it but it's not for everyone and many found it quite offensive when it came to one particular line that they beat to death throughout the film. The film even had some folks complaining right outside the film's premiere due to it's content.

I know what you mean i love love. It does go a bit close to the knuckle. But apart from that it's still very funny. And has an unexpected star in it as well, you won't immediately recognise them. Incidentally Sky Movies is showing this tomorrow night. Spooky huh?
