I bet IDW will sell the comic cheap at the Con. I wouldn't be surprised if they limit how many you can buy in order to stop eBayers from making a profit. Most tables that employ this strategy usually put a holepunch in your convention badge so you're not able to walk back over later and buy more of them.
You've seen how IDW sells their own products on eBay so the starting price for the Con edition should be very low on eBay. The other bidders will be your only threat and IDW will look forward to bidding wars.
I always felt that IDW got greedy because the rare GW comics were supposed to be limited to comic dealers. But IDW put them on eBay anyway and killed the scarcity that the issues possessed. I won't be surprised if they also kill the so called scarcity of the "2009 Convention Edition" as well. If they're going to call it a Convention Edition you'd think they'd only sell them at conventions and not on eBay. IDW did it in the past so they will probably sell them on eBay themselves shortly after the Con. I guess you can't really blame them if they see them selling for huge profits on eBay.
