| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() | I accidently got on this site DVDglobe.com and they are offering PO5 seasons 1-6, 142 episodes for $79.00. 75% off retail price. I am baffled cause I thought only up to season 3 was out. Although this is an overseas company is this too good to be true? I already have season 2 and 3 but for 80 dollars thats great. They also have the first 3 season on there llike ebay and you can gat a DVD of the first 3 seasons for around 10 bucks. They say they will play on any DVD. Should I do it? |

There are NO legitimate seasons after the third. BEWARE. All those box sets are bootlegs. Illegal burned homemade discs. So keep in mind that many of the individual episodes are not even close to clean. Another warning, many of those "sellers" (and I use the term very loosely) won't help you if you wind up with discs that freeze up or won't play. Most of those PO5 Series boxsets are either 37, 38 or 39 burned DVD's, either offered in an oversized snapcase, or shipped to you in individual paper sleeves with no artwork. The main warning I would offer is stay away from sellers from outside the USA, they are the very worst. You can find the EXACT same products right here in the USA. Those "sellers" have countless websites with tons of unreleased box sets. They LOVE to mark them with huge reductions, it's a sales ploy to make you believe they're somehow legal, which they aren't. The bootleggers have already started selling a four season box set of Ghost Whisperer as well. We won't see a season four boxset until either September or October. The biggest heartache is the bootleggers don't pay the industry one single cent in royalties, it's all black market profits. I don't condone them at all, but I do want to discourage any purchase outside the country, ESPECIALLY companies located in Canada. Last edited by i love love; 05-17-2009 at 08:14 PM.. |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah. Thanks I Love Love. The picture showed a 3 box set with a pic of PO5 on it. I checked GW season 4 for comparison but the site said not available yet. I have to admit it looked legit but I am leary and I am sure you know better than me I Love Love so I will stay away. Thanks. |

You can find all six seasons for half that price you quoted. Here is a pic of a thief on EBAY selling all FOUR seasons of GW: Some sites sell lots of illegal discs out of China and the Far East as well. Some are even silver discs but they are still not professional legitimate products. Many clues are there if you watch yourself. Firstly always check the legits like Amazon or your local stores to see if the item really exists. Beware of some shady Amazon Store sellers since the bootlegs slip in through that "back door". If Amazon itself doesn't show the item (meaning sold directly from Amazon itself - NOT the Amazon stores) then it probably doesn't exist. Secondly, many bootlegs have lots of mis-spellings on the covers and boast that they're "region-free". Most legitimate discs are NOT region-free (Region 0). As a rule of thumb MOST US discs are Region ONE and will only play on Region ONE DVD players. There are a few exceptions but they are few and far between. Many bootlegs also have foreign writing on the covers too, Chinese, Thai etc etc. Here's another example of a thief: Notice the pathetic packaging and the foreign language printed right on the front cover. Read my post above. Not only is that site another black market website, I'm almost positive that they are the same Canadian outfit (schmucks) that has used countless business names over the years. These thieves repeatedly open and close websites and change their name to avoid unhappy buyers. These places have sites outside the US borders to avoid the US laws regarding copyright. I DON'T sell any bootlegs and I won't link any other sources but if you need more info you can always PM me about it. Last edited by i love love; 05-17-2009 at 08:55 PM.. |

I have purchased a few bootlegs over time and some of them just because it was only way to see a show that was not out on dvd yet. Most play fine on a pc but the DVD menus and packaging could be a lot better but when you buy bootlegs that is what you get. I also saw the ebay for the 4 season of GW and had to do a double take before I realized it was bootleg. You can always report the auction to ebay as being fake/bootleg and so far every time I have done this the auction is gone within the day .Last edited by zachlaka; 05-20-2009 at 09:23 AM.. |

The auctions that EBAY will remove have to be obvious counterfeits. The seller generally has to describe "burned", DVD-R, CD-R, copy or homemade in their description, otherwise they WON'T remove an auction. So sly thieves will make sure and omit all telltales of an illegal copy. There is one specific seller that has probably sold hundreds of illegal tapes of TOYL's debut episode and I've reported them so many times that I've lost count but since the seller also sells legitimate titles EBAY let's the thief get away with it anyway. So beware, the thieves come in all shapes and types on EBAY. Party of Five can be found for less than $40 in it's entirety and it's not really that bad a set of discs. They're the identical copies that float around on the net for big bucks. Just like those TOYL discs that Zach got a while back. Never pay a lot for any boots, if they're cheap then at least it's worth the cost to get them. The auctions that are even more offensive are the fake nudes which are common on EBAY. They're easy to get removed as long as they show nudity (EBAY forbids nudity listed in the regulars sections - they must be listed in the adult section) but there is a whole new crop of thieves who call their fake photos "artwork" or "paintings". They're obvious computer generated images but EBAY will not remove them. So the boobs are selling photos of boobs in the regular section again. The loophole is calling it art and describing it as being created or drawn by an artist. On huge fool is making hundreds of dollars every week with his computer generated fakes. Young males just eat up his fakes, forking over big money for a piece of junk. Last edited by i love love; 05-19-2009 at 04:19 PM.. |
