Hollywood, CA (CNS) - Though the fire at Universal Studios on Sunday damaged some of Hollywood's most familiar sets, it only did minor damage to the set of CBS's "Ghost Whisperer."

"There has been damage to some secondary exterior locations but production will continue as scheduled," said a studio rep, according to ET.

The show, which stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, is set to begin shooting June 11.

"Ghost Whisperer" is about Melinda Gordon (Hewitt), who communicates with ghosts and spirits that have unfinished business which prevents them from moving on, according to the synopsis on CBS.com.

The show will return for its fourth season in the fall, and will air Friday nights at 8 p.m.

According to the Associated Press, a preliminary investigation determined the fire was an accident.

Season 4 of CBS’s Ghost Whisperer will go on!June 3rd, 2008 under Ghost Whisperer

In regards to the unfortunate fire that took place this weekend on the Universal back lot, we would like to thank those emergency responders who so bravely and effectively handled the situation. Despite damage to some of the exterior sets, we plan to begin production for Season 4 on time, so that the show can premiere as scheduled this fall. Everyone at “Ghost Whisperer” thanks you for your concern and support.

If you look at the top picture, the GW's exterior set is the part in red around the courthouse. In fact you can see the town square war memorial that has played a major role in several GW episodes. The Same As It Never Was store exterior suffered fire damage, but the interior is on a different part of the lot so it is OK!

It is good to see that the show will back on its regularly scheduled Friday this fall and the fire did not put the show's season at risk. Now I wonder if they will incorporate the fire into a storyline???

Best of luck to everyone on the Ghost Whisperer set to getting things back to normal.

Bigbear you should know by now, not to take anything I say seriously, and that
I never mean to offend anyone, (except Dave but I am working on it)

So I do apologize.

But, (I know there's always a but)

1. This was a business not someones home, and probably well insured.

2. Sets today can be reproduced by computers, or rebuilt as was
after all it is a film studio. (They're pretty good at that)

3. Although 4 firefighters were injured which is sad, but it goes
with the job. Nobody was killed (that's the biggie)

4.We've all gone through tragic events and (excluding were a death
occurs or grievous injury) I feel injecting a bit of humor where
we can helps us get through it all.
