If you find yourself dealing with an unexpected back-story, and a preponderance of exposition, then the sequel rules do not apply. Because you are not dealing with a sequel. You are dealing with the concluding chapter of a trilogy. That's right. It's a rarity in the horror field, but it does exist, and it is a force to be reckoned with. Because true trilogies are all about going back to the beginning and discovering something that wasn't true from the get-go. Godfather, Jedi, all revealed something that we thought was true that wasn't true. So if it is a trilogy you are dealing with, here are some super trilogy rules. One: you've got a killer who's gonna be superhuman. Stabbing him won't work. Shooting him won't work. Basically, in the third one, you've gotta cryogenically freeze his head, decapitate him, or blow him up. Number two: anyone, including the main character, can die. This means you, Sid. I'm sorry. It's the final chapter. It could be ****ing Reservoir Dogs by the time this thing is through. Number three: the past will come back to bite you in the ass. Whatever you think you know about the past, forget it. The past is not at rest! Any sins you think were committed in the past are about to break out and destroy you. (long pause) So in closing, let me say...good luck, godspeed, and for some of you, I'll see you soon. 'Cause the rules say some of you ain't gonna make it. I didn't. Not if you're watching this tape Also, Randy mentions at another point in the film that trilogies are usually planned. If anyone mobilizes to storm TV for three seasons instead of just trying to make it through the first Love is that person! ___________________________________________ "I just really want them to watch for a third" Jennifer Love Hewitt to Craig Ferguson on The Late, Late Show |

| The Sin City Taoist Newbie | I think Love is just happy having as much success with The Ghost Whisperer as she has had. Television is brutal these days so just getting past the first season was a big deal. But for any actor the important thing is quality over quantity. Even if The Ghost Whisperer folds after this season, she has still shown off her acting talents. So if nothing else she has hopefully opened doors to other opportunities. |

It could only be the conclusion of Melinda's chapter? _________________________________ "Number two: anyone, including the main character, can die. This means you, Sid. I'm sorry. If the ratings stay in that range there is some risk that this could be the last season. It will be interesting to see this weeks ratings to see if it was a one time thing or if fewer people are watching the show. |

| Member ![]() | Hard to tell really these days... It's done well so far but the world of TV is soooo fickle these days... "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch", "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" were all GREAT shows and lasted seasons, however "Tru Calling" was also great & that only lasted a mere 1 season & 8 episodes!!!! So you never know.. It's looking POSITIVE FOR NOW but it COULD all fall flat.. YOU NEVER KNOW!!! I hope though it lasts as long as "Sabrina" & "Buffy" though either that or it'll last like 5 seasons like "Alias" (another GREAT show with a ANOTHER GREAT Jennifer!!!) lol :D |

CBS is a completely different network. They tend to give a show more time to develop an audience. Of course the drop in ratings is never a good thing. But this is just the first episode of the new season. Don't read too much into that. Lots of stuff will happen, shows get shuffled around or even cancelled. CBS will not make a decision until May. So let's just sit back and watch the new season. You can start worrying come spring if the ratings keep dropping. Greets Lambsilencer Last edited by Lambsilencer; 10-13-2007 at 06:45 PM.. | |
