GW numbers down but still won time slot

Someone can post the night as a whole but GW averaged 8.7 viewers last night . Down a million and a half from last years season opener. Good news is that it beat DOND. Moonlight did well behind GW. 8 or so million. The whole night was a dud. Hopefully things will pick up.

Was the older skewing Close To Home really that bad?"

Also, I think this may have been a factor.

"... since the level of DVR penetration has increased from 8.54 percent during premiere week in 2006 to 19.43 percent at present, the overall rating results may be negatively impacted. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the next day numbers."

I must say, I was watching Doctor Who at 8:00 p.m. on Friday night and DVR'd GW to watch at 9:00 p.m.

I know that there are some people (probably older) who watch the show because they are James Van Praagh fans, dislike the darker tone of the show. They preferred the show when it was more formulaic and about everything being light.

But "Ghost Whisperer" came out on top, so that's what matters (as far as it staying on air goes).
