I don't know if I do agree with you. Surely Love could never read all of her fanmail and of course she cares not about all writers. However I think if there are some special fanmails she reads them probably and I am sure she is glad to get so much fanmail.... | |

| Junior Member | Why so many addresses ? What about writing to JLH at GW at CBS studios ? She has already found her knight in shining armour ( Ross ) so what is the point of writing ? Although anything is still possible because she is not engaged yet so who knows . A few letters could be passed on to her but the rest are just read by an assistant or might even be just thrown out in the garbage. I mean who is going to read thousands and thousands of letters from strangers even if one is paid to do so ? CBS probably would care to see how viewers are responding to the show but come on do you think after JLH arrives home at 11:00 pm from the set of GW ,takes a shower and is going to sit down to read 10,000 fan letters ? I think it is more probable that she is going to go straight to bed after her shower . |

| It's only words...  | Indeed it's a nice thing to write, I totally agree dave. But even so, I meant Love doesn't seem to be the writing and reading type. Off course I'm aware of the fact that she's busy and stuff. But look at it this way: has anyone here already got a response from Love? Did she ever showed any interest, respect or gratitude on this board? Did she ever spoke about the letters we all wrote her as a board last year? She didn't, and people accuse me of cynicism... I'm just saying she could show more gratitude to her fans, that's all. And please correct me if I'm wrong, I also don't like these thoughts... |

| It's only words... | A fan is an ardent follower, which means he's a follower of devotee characterised by great enthusiasm. Peter, you call yourself a fan but consider Love as a stranger? So the only reason you are on this forum is simply because her looks appeal to you? I hope that's not true. When you're a fan of someone, you don't think of him or her as a stranger, that's just nonsense. Why do we focus that much on what Love does outside her movies, why do we read interviews? Peter, would you read an interview with a stranger? You said: "What with her job and having so much money she has other forms of entertainment and doesn't really spend any time on the internet." Okay, true, but celebrities tend to forget that they are worth nothing without their fans. Celebrities are who they are thanks to their looks and skills, but mostly because the public allows them to be celebrities. I hope I'm making some sense here... Thinking of Love as a stranger is just the opposite of being a fan. For me she's more than that, she's someone I admire, maybe even love in a way due to her looks, her perkiness and work. I think people will agree on this. I recall an Elvis fan in the documentary ' Elvis that's the way it is' saying: ' I love Elvis, but not like a person I want to marry, but more like the love you feel for a brother.' I wouldn't put it like that if I should talk about Love. But yeah, I love her in a way, just like many others on the board I guess. In Rivers Of Black Absinth, the book I’ve been writing for the last year, I found a nice illustration on this subject. It’s a story about a local rock band, where one day, the singer writes a fan letter to an actress. … But enough about me. Speaking to myself may annoy you , for this is your letter. Right now, I’ll talk to you for a change… Don’t you hex the fact that you’re famous in a way that every man on earth knows your name while you don’t have a clue of who they are? Doesn’t it bother you knowing the amount of interesting people you’re never going to meet, even though they’d like to know you? I guess I’m the only one who ponders about such far-fetched troubles. I guess most people only care for the way you smell, write an autograph or look like in a bathing suit. Probably that question never entered your mind before today. Maybe I’m one of those people you’ll never meet, I doubt the fact that I’ll be worthwhile. Maybe we’ll meet each other one time. Maybe one of us will succeed in grasping the other ones attention. Maybe… What sort of uncertain truth the future may have in store, we’ll see how it will turn out in time… Our ways are hid within a dense fog… The only thing that we, mortals of the present, are allowed to see is mystery. Anyway, I hope a good future will come to you when your fog has vanished… Yeah, that’s about all I wanted to say… |
