True, but look at it this way. There will be a lot of people at the theatre seeing movie posters of "Shortcut to Happiness" and the names of Anthony Hopkins, Alec Baldwin, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Dan Aykryod, & Kim Catrall on it. There is definitely some starpower there to garner a lot of interest. I'm guessing there won't be a whole lot of marketing for it anyway, so people just being there at the same time could be their best "marketing campaign" to get people to notice the film. Actually I'm thinking that could be a good way to generate buzz. More people these days go to the movies for certain movies, not just to be going. We should start seeing trailers in a couple weeks if they are indeed going to market it a bit.

yeah.. the release date may not be as timely as it should be but atleast we'll be getting a chance to see the movie. Actually, if you get a comparison of last year's movie.. it's like "The Devil Wears Prada" of 2007. I'm not saying their similar literally.. what I was saying is the kind of production, cast wise STH has a powerhouse cast.. I hope it still do good..

C'mon... Jennifer Love Hewitt, Anthony Hopkins, Alec Baldwin... that movie's like a clear night sky - full of stars
And what does the mageling have to offer? A bunch of weak actors + the fact that its a crappy filmed version of a crappy book
I'll take the shortcut anytime and i'm sure many others will do the same

I would too, but there's a huge interest in the Potter film sadly. But given a choice I'd take Shortcut. But For none fans, I do hope they'll be interested in it due to Hopkins, Baldwin, and maybe some Sex in the City fans with Catrall. So you can find positives.

I plan on watching JLH first, if the movie comes out here in the cinemas. The word from the cinemas here in town is Harry Potter will be on multiple screens for the first two weeks. We have three multiplexes here in town. I hope they save a spot for Love's movie. In case anyone was curious how I know the info about what's playing @ the cinemas I use to work for Regal entertainment Group one of the largest movie theater chains in the usa. Like Dave said it's a hard choice Love vs. Potter I love them both.
