Next week...A NEW EPISODE OF "GHOST WHISPERER" - "Cat's Claw" - Friday December 15, 2006 @ 8:00 PM e/p on CBS

"Ghost Whisperer" will be pre-empted on Friday December 22, 2006

"Ghost Interupted", an episode from the 1st season will air on December 29, 2006 @ 8:00 PM e/p on CBS.

And then a new "Ghost Whisperer" episode in the new year, "Dead to Rights" will air on Friday January 4, 2006 @ 8:00 PM e/p on CBS

January 4 is a Thursday. So you probably mean January 5 which falls on the Friday being the date when a new Ghost Whisperer will air. If I am wrong then please correct this.

You're right Peter, I was typing out this newer update while you replied.

Already posted info about Cat's Claw a few weeks ago, but it's always good to keep up-to-date. Unless they change Ghost Whisperer's scheduled night, it won't be seen on January 4th, that's a Thursday, and of course it will be 2007. The schedule I've seen reflects the same Friday timeslot it's always had. Here are some further listings and some of their synopsis, titles and dates can always change:

Cat's Claw:

While Melinda is at the University’s botany lab she deals with some telekinetic events while dealing with a plant from Peru that is bleeding. Melinda finds that she must help a Doctor save herself.

Dead to Rights:

Melinda has trouble talking to a ghost only to find that it's because he is not dead but in a coma. His wife and family are in a legal battle to take him off of the life support.

Deja Boo:

Melinda finds that she must stop a ghost who wants to be reincarnated again. Melinda finds out that someone knows her secret. Delia has second thoughts about dinner date.

Speed Demon:

Melinda meets a young woman who owns the family auto shop. One of the brothers feels that he has to race cars like his father did to try and save the business. After a tragedy strikes the younger brother takes up where his brother and father left off. Melinda must convince Michael that this is not the life for him.

"Pre-empt" can be confusing and misleading, GW simply won't be seen on December 22 for other programming. They're probably just electing to run something more family oriented during the long Christmas weekend. I won't be surprised if we get some blockbuster movie for CBS' Friday before Christmas. There are so many, I nominate my favorite, "It's a Wonderful Life" . A huge percentage of television series are taking, what they're calling a "fall break", coming back after the holidays. It also gives the networks a longer season, running into the summer for most, making for more competition further into next year, instead of just running tons of re-runs during the summer break.
