How much is GW Season 1 going for $ wise?

At the GW website you can order it for $70. I was wondering if it is going to be cheaper somewhere else?

thats the list price of the dvd. go to any chain store or amazon and youll get it for about forty bucks. Many chain stores like target and best buy sell dvds at a bit of a loss in order to gain more customers.

I wasnt as big of a fan of the first as i am of the second season but there are gonna be special features and some episodes were good so im gonna probably get it at Target or something when it comes out. Which is my birthday btw.

The retail price is as high as $72.99. Some sites have lowered it, it's ridiculously overpriced. Shows like Medium are retailing for around $50-$55. CBS is being very greedy on this puppy.

Amazon has the best price at $41.87, it's free shipping and, most importantly, tax free:

Deepdiscountdvd is also tax free and free shipping, they're usually cheaper than Amazon, but not on this title, they're selling at $45.98:

It's very very doubtful that Best Buy, Target or any chain store will even be close to Amazon's price. And the other thing to keep in mind is the tax man. No tax via Amazon or Deepdiscount, and neither charges shipping on this.

If you wait for the day after Thanksgiving for all the gigantic sales across the nation, you MAY find it cheaper, I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

Thanks evryone. I think Amazon will be the cheapest although Wal-Mart sometimes has a good deal. Amazon offering shipping and Handling for free is great.

the thing about amazon is the wait. the free shipping takes long. about 10 days. pisses me off. the chain stores usually sell regular dvds at about ten dollars off the list price. but your right about gw probably not being as cheap at the chain stores than at amazon.

PREORDER. Amazon is super reliable, even if you have to wait a few days, that's what you get for free shipping. They offer fast shipping at a cost. Ten dollars off and add tax, no way for me, I'll get it via Amazon. All these stores are struggling to make a buck, they're not really offering much off retail overall.

I just ordered my set via Amazon, they claim it will ship on November 4th so pre-sales must be huge. I don't mind waiting a few days to save tons of money.

Actually not entirely, Amazon has no tax and they also have no shipping charges on purchases over $25., so you're still paying the tax man a small difference depending on your local tax percentage, I'm always buying the lowest whenever I can, so Amazon still beats them both for me.

One very good thing about Best Buy is you WILL add to your points if you have signed up for their rewards program. Their reward program is now free so if you buy a few things during the year you will earn enough points to acquire a $5 certificate towards any new purchase, so you win a little with Best Buy that way.

My pre-ordered amazon copy is $41.87, so I'm just ahead by the time CA tax is included. Then again I do have that Best Buy card which gives me money back, so I just don't know.

You've probably noticed you don't even have to purchase a Best Buy card to get the rewards certs anymore, they've apparently dropped the whole card concept in order to attract more buyers. I'm a cheap buyer, no retail for me, even if I'm only saving a dollar I'll save a dollar, though the Best Buy Rewards certs are nice, I don't really buy frequently enough to collect those rewards that often. There's always a tiny chance Amazon will reduce their sale price (and any further savings will be returned to you by Amazon, part of their pricing guarantee) but Amazon already had reduced this box a while back when everybody started changing their sale prices on this overpriced box. No way I'd ever pay GW's insane retail price, which has now fluctuated between $62.95 - $72.99.

When deepdiscountdvd has their gigantic bi-annual holiday sale just before Thanksgiving, Ghost Whisperer may very well be priced as low as $32 - $36, no tax free ship. So if anyone wants to hold out for the lowest price, it will be the week of Thanksgiving.

Today Amazon sent me a confirmation stating that my GW box has been shipped.
