Here's the text version of the article from the Manila Buletin Online. --------------------- The Manila Bulletin Online Mon June 12, 2006 Entertainment The Vet Is In: Jennifer Love Hewitt in ‘Garfield 2’ Get ready for a second serving of lasagna when Garfield journeys to London in "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties" to track his owner Jon (Breckin Meyer) who followed girlfriend Liz (Jennifer Love Hewitt) for a surprise proposal. Jennifer Love Hewitt was delighted to reprise her "Garfield" role. "I grew up watching the Garfield cartoon series, and even got a big orange cat," she says. "I tried Garfield’s favorite dish, lasagna, for the first time when I was making the movie. But what I now love most about Garfield is his sarcasm. I’m very sarcastic too, so I appreciate that kind of humor." In "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties," Hewitt experiences an on–screen "first." "I’ve never been proposed to before," admits the actress. "That element of the story was a lot of fun." What wasn’t new for Hewitt was working with an invisible co–star. "In the first ‘Garfield,’ working with a co–star who wasn’t ever there, was a little daunting," she admits. "But, now, after that film and my television series ‘The Ghost Whisperer,’ where I communicate with ghosts, I’m really talking to myself a lot these days." As Liz Wilson, Jon Arbuckle’s love interest, Jennifer Love Hewitt reprises her "Garfield" character for "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties." As one of Hollywood’s hottest young actors, Hewitt returned to series television this fall starring on CBS’ hit drama series, "Ghost Whisperer." She plays a young newly-wed who delivers messages from the dead to the living. She most recently completed production on two independent features "The Truth About Love" and "If Only" she produced the latter through her production company LoveSpell Entertainment. She also starred in the DreamWorks action/comedy "The Tuxedo" opposite Jackie Chan as an intelligence agent who takes on a malevolent corporate mogul, and in MGM’s "Heartbreakers," with Sigourney Weaver, Gene Hackman and Ray Liotta. Hewitt received critical acclaim as the title role in the ABC Original Movie "The Audrey Hepburn Story," based on the life of the Academy Award–winning actress. She is also known to television audiences as ‘Sarah Reeves’ from the award–winning drama series "Party of Five." Her career has been linked to box–office success with such film as "I Know What You Did Last Summer," for which she won a 1998 Blockbuster Entertainment Award. She also starred in the film’s sequel "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer," and the comedies "Can’t Hardly Wait," "The Suburbans," and "Sister Act 2." "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties" opens June 14 in theaters nationwide from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros. |
