What took her so long?

Ok, before I bring up this topic for hopefuly the last time on this forum, just relax and hear me out before you guys freak out. Anyone who has been even a slight fan of Jennifer over her career has heard of at least one of these crazy Playboy rumors that always seem to surface every couple of years. If you believed these rumors than Jennifer would have posed for like 9 Playboy covers over the last 5 years. It's always the same. There is a rumor about Jennifer possibly posing in the mag, every Love Hewitt forum is flooded with this topic, then it dies out and everyone realizes it was just another one of many false playboy rumors that have to do with Jennifer. Not a big deal because those who follow Love Hewitt's career know she would never do it. Or at least that is what I used to think. What I am trying to get at is this, out of all the times that this rumor has surfaced, Jennifer always ignored it, didn't care to bother with it because it was so upsurd in her mind, or probably didn't even know it existed. The rumor just died out untill it was brought up again by some other liar. Also, don't think for a second that another playboy rumor won't surface again later. The problem I have is that for the first time she actually talked about it through the media like Leno. I never expected her to coment on these previous false rumors and I certainly didn't think she would talk about this one. Why should she? Unless...... Well, all I'm trying to say is that maybe, just maybe for the first time, she was actually considering it. I mean this rumor is old news and it's not like Playboy has never made her an offer before. I'm sure playboy has contacted her tons of times and offered her tons of money. So why for the first time did she publicly turn them down. Perhaps it is because she felt that if she went on Jay Leno and told the world that "It's not gonna happen" than everyone including Playboy would just finally drop the subject. If that's the case than what took her so long. I mean this rumor was going on strong for months before she put it to rest. Why wait so long if she never intended on posing and why now and not during one of the other 20,000 times this rumor came out. I belive (and it's just an opinion) that Jennifer was made a very serious offer from Playboy. Also, Jennifer wants a bigger Movie career with more serious oscar type roles that she is not getting offered. Hollywood is all about BUZZ and if Jennifer did Playboy than my god would her name be everywhere. I think that she actaually gave it some consideration. Even if it was just for a second and she was never even close to making the deal, she still thought about it. At least for a few months. Once she made up her mind and realized that people all over the country were speculating about it, she decided to dispell the "rumor" on Leno. I'm sorry and I never thought I would say this, but I think our wonderfull Jennifer will In fact apear nude in some form in the near future. Probably not Playboy but possibly in one of her movies.

So the fact she stated she would never do it - and I will say for very good reasons - keeping part of her very public life for herself - means that the pressure is real and therefore that she will cave ?

Dream on buddy. It's plainly wrong for her and wrong for her career.

Plus personally I'd rather keep the mystery.. I find it sexier.

Dream on? First of all, I'm not your buddy. Second, If you read closely you would know that I'm with YOU stupid. I agree that she should never do it. Pressure is the key word and I think it's finally taking its toll. I always shrugged off these rumors just as you and probably she did. However, this time just seems a little wierd. For the first time I actually believe it could happen. A scarry thought because I don't believe it would be a good decision. I'm just stating my thoughts and opinion on the subject and I knew a pathetic forum bully like you would butt in right away. By the way, next time you state your opinion, try and be original and not just copy the exact same words that Jennifer uses on Jay Leno the other night.... "Plus personally I'd rather keep the mystery.. I find it sexier."

Ms. Hewitt strikes me as being principled and unwavering, which leads me to believe that she has not and won't likely consider seriously any offer to pose nude. But she's also a shrewd businesswoman who has learned a thing or two about how to further her career. By allowing the rumors to propagate without immediately denying them, or even by allowing or authorizing unnamed friends to announce that she is considering such offers, she turns the volume up on the buzz, plants an imaginative seed in the minds of various powers that be, and accomplishes at least to some extent the very effect that posing would produce without having to resort to posing – that she is willing to take on new, more daring roles and thereby take her career in a different direction. Ms. Hewitt seems like a terrific person with heartfelt moral convictions, but hey, she's also an actress who knows how to play a role.

Why not take a breath and read some of the threads before you pop your cork. Facts are facts, whether it's a quote or not. She denied the rumor in another radio interview a few days ago. Playboy rumors will always follow Love for years to come, probably decades. It's a simple fact of life, gorgeous women are always hunted by the skin mags. Playboy topics always crash and burn, whether you do or don't want to see birthday suits, time will tell.

So we both think nudity is a bad idea. Great. You think she's weak willed and will cave, I think her career is strong and just the opposite. This is all based on personal belief, so let's just agree to disagree. Perhaps in 10 years things will be different.

I also quoted the mystery thing because as she said it reflects how a lot of her fans feel, including me. Thanks for picking up on that.

As ilovelove pointed out she knows the business and the fact that showing cleavage sells, but that doesn't mean she doesn't know where the limit is, in fact I think such awareness implies the opposite.

nowadays this forum doesnt have any room for thoughts or opinions, thinking for yourself could lead to dangerous things like discussions or god knows what else, and that just isnt tolerated here. if you wanna get by here you need to stick to short responses like "Nice pic!" Are badmoon8081 and The Gooch a one-man tag team, certainly could be? It doesn't matter either way. If you have an interest in Love you'll have fun here. If you only want to flame or push people around then it could get pretty boring pretty fast.

We like discussions and opinions but not when they contain calling people stupid or pathetic, its just completely unnecessary and immature and quickly leads to locked threads.

This is also a fansite for people who like JLH and her work so theres no real need for the negativity and i love love is completely right here.

I dont see this topic going anywhere other then discussing flaming or arguing so ts getting locked.
