To us, Love has always had an exotic look. Her ears, eyes, nose, and mouth are really too big for her small narrow face (not to mention those other two things that are so big). The size discrepancy is particularly apparent when she wears her hair back. And yet put together the whole effect works wonders and she comes across as really beguiling beauty with her hair back. Then when she opens her mouth in a big laugh we get the goofy but gorgeous look.
We think this exotic look might be part of the reason Love has not received the big movie parts. They just don't know what to make of her. On the other hand, the exotic look really works for her character Melinda on
Ghost Whisperer who is supposed to be a very unusual person. Love may be destined to be a great TV actress, not a movie one.
Have you noticed that her recent hair styles -- no matter what the color -- have tended to be much fuller. The effect is to give Love a much less exotic look. We think she may be trying to distance herself from her very popular character and appear "ordinary" when she goes out in "real life."
