| IN THE GAME (ABC) - Alyson Hannigan ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") has opted out of joining the cast of the Jennifer Love Hewitt-led comedy as Sara Gilbert ("Roseanne") has been brought in to replace her. No reason for the change was given. Gilbert's character will also now be listed only as a guest star and not a series regular. |

| Member ![]() ![]() | Damn, thanks for the info, I'm bummed, I like Allison. And Vette, that was funny, but lets give it somewhat of a prayer here brother!! No one has seen it other than that dude who saw the taping, and that was with all actors that have been replaced with names. Keep it rollen Love! |

| Goat Whisperer ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Shame. Hopefully it was because she got something better to do (she's been trying to get her own sitcom) I like Sara Gilbert... she's not done much recently. Oh and feel free to keep saying "this show sucks" in every In The Game thread Vet. |

| Too bad about Allyson H -- she's a funny actress. But so is Sara Gilbert. However, Allyson and Sara are such completely different comedic types -- Allyson has the naive, doe-eyed innocent thing going, while Sara that deadpan sarcastic delivery. Such different takes. It's hard to imagine a role that could be played perfectly by Allyson would work really well for Sara. We'll see ... |

| I know I've kept quiet about the topic of "In The Game" but I think its time I said my piece. To tell you honestly I have very high hopes for the show. It has a good nucleus of star power in JLH, Christine Baranski and Ed O'Neill leading the way even with Alyson Hannigan now gone from the cast. But I also have to be honest about the naysayers saying this won't fly. This sitcom you remember is a sitcom based from the world of sports television. The only other sitcom like this was another ABC sitcom we all know as "SportsNight". And SportsNight was legendary. It's one of the Top 50 sitcoms in history according to TVGuide. It is a cult classic and has won both Golden Globes and Emmys during its run. Point being is "In The Game" because of "SportsNight" has to live up to some very high expectations. This has to be a ratings grabber and an Golden Globe/Emmy winning quality show for ABC to keep it on the air. Granted in this man's opinion I think "In The Game" can be the kind of show I mentioned above but on the other hand it has its work cut out for it because of what its predecessor in the sports television sitcom genre has done already. Here's to hoping the best for "In The Game". Until next time I am out! |

| No big deal, Sara Gilbert is more than capable, her and Baranski have actually worked before. Also, lots of things play in to how long a sitcom hangs around, and if you look at ABC, 8 Simple Rules, According to Jim, My Wife & Kids, Less than Perfect and George Lopez have all been around for at least 3 seasons, so you don't have to be ground breaking or setting the world on fire to last. I have hopes that with the writing team the show will be good. |
