Hewitt has never backed down from a challenge. In 2003, she released the pop music CD Bare Naked, which was panned by critics. Still, she plans to continue recording ... eventually. "It is really hard to do records that people take seriously because I am an actor," she says. "I feel like I need to kind of take a break and figure out a way to get people to listen to it."

Darn, I guess that's indefinite. I was hoping that she would have a new album out by next year, but if she's going to try to "figure out a way to get people to listen" to her music, that could be a very long time. After all, she said that it's hard for people to take her singing career seriously since she's an actress. So if that's the case, how will she ever be able to overcome that?

It's a shame, because she has such a beautiful singing voice that's underestimated.

It depends on how her Jive contract reads or read. If she signed a multiple year deal she will certainly owe the label new material. If she doesn't have a contract for more she may have to shop her next project around again.
