| 6.5/10. I didn't go in expecting much, some laughs, some wonderful Love, and that's exactly what I got. The movie was largely geared for a younger audience, and with kids, it's wonderful (I could hear them laughing it up all over the theatre). With adults though it does lose some appeal. I laughed some, but it doesn't have the adult humor Shrek would have. You shouldn't expect that though, it wasn't meant to be that. Garfield was very true to the comic, as well as one could convert a 3 cell strip to a 90 minute movie. The animation was well done, except for parts where he's being held by people. That had trouble from inacurate modeling from the live shoot. It's not really noticable or an eyesore unless you're looking for it though. Breckin Meyer was fine. Jon Arbuckle isn't exactly something for an actor to cut his teeth on, but Meyer did well in reperesenting Jon. Heck, give him points for looking so much like him. The same goes for Love. Nothing really difficult, but she had fun and she looked really amazing. The best way to sum up everything about the movie was that it wasn't spectacular, but it wasn't a dud either. If you've already seen Shrek and Harry Potter, and/or are a fan of Garfield, I'd suggest it. PS. I could listen to Love say her last line in the movie ALL DAY. "I want to be more than that Jon. *kiss*" YEHAA! :D |

| I went to the 1:00pm showing at my theatre. My friend and I were the first ones there. At first, the theatre looked empty... but soon enough, as the Twenty started playing, families, full of kids, started coming in. The theatre was almost/pretty much/possibly was full. As I came out, there was a HUGE line for the next showing. I think the box office results will be very well, better than the Tuxedo. The target audience is obviously kids, and for every kid, there must be an adult present. I think my friend and I were like 2 of 4 teenagers there. The movie itself was really cute, just like Love had said. Many of the little kids were laughing, as were some of the adults. As Doogie said though, a lot of the humor was aimed at children. I probably laughed out loud 3 times throughout the whole thing. It was a very, feel-good, enjoy with your family movie. The one thing I was kinda disappointed about was the fact that Love's character had almost no development and seemingly no purpose (apart from bringing Odie into the picture). The story is told through Garfield's eyes... thus, the human characters aren't fully explored. It seemed as if Love was just the nice vet who served as eye candy. It wasn't the type of roll that really gave her a chance to exhibit her acting talents. However, I wasn't expecting a whole lot out of this role, since it is GARFIELD the movie. At any rate, she was really cute... and it was so amazing to see her on the big screen again. Hopefully this role will contribute to further roles in the future. All in all, it was a movie that I would definitely go see again. Love was very beautiful, and it was just quite enjoyable for me in general. I only noticed once when holding garfiled did it look funny but then again I was not looking for that. I would definatly go see this again it was a movie geared towards kids but if you like Garfield you will laugh as stated not as much as shrek but it was a pretty funny movie. I hope this does give Jennifer more roles as stated Jennifer was amazing looks and acting   P.S. GO SEE THE MOVIE |

| The movie was almost full when I saw it, almost all little kids. I thought the movie was pretty cute. I liked the little trot that the CG Garfield had. The kids all seemed to enjoy it a lot and it was geared towards them so I think it served its purpose pretty well. |

Even all the kids in the theater weren't laughing throughout. The biggest laugh was at the end when Odie kept trying to get in the chair with Garfield. Still I enjoyed it to an extent. Admittedly, I'm not a fan of the strip or especially the old cartoon version. I heard the voice of Garfield in the cartoons passed away back when? But this one's for kids and I'm sure they liked it. They still had it playing in the third biggest screening room at my local 10 theater venue. |

| I know what I'm about to say will piss people off but here it goes... I downloaded the movie, didn't pay for my ticket and I'm glad they didn't get my money for this crappy flick. Heck I love Garfield, I Love JLH and Breckin Meyer is an ok guy but there is no way this movie can be qualified as worth seeing. It seems the script was written over lunch. I've seen Ren & Stimpy episodes with better story, the jokes are easy and the (human) dialogue is barely above retarded. Was there even a director present on set? In some scenes, you wonder if the actors were just left to themselves, in others, you wonder if they kept the rehearsal take. The CG cat is cute and funny for the first ten minutes, then the magic fades away and you are left watching some lame attempt at teaching us all not to be selfish. I've seen some after school specials with more entertainment value. I used to watch the cartoon and still have fond memories of the christmas special. Where is the Garfield I loved so much? I guess it's like Matt said to Ben (or was it Ben to Matt?) in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back: "I've told you a million times! First you do the safe movie, then the artsy movie, and then the movie you do because your friend says you owe it to him". PS: Don't be mad at me for my review, be mad at Hollywood for making such crap. |

Cause it's a movie with doesn't mean you should like. Infact if I wasn't a fan than I would only buy 2 of her movies. You call this crap and the other one says it's great! LOTR has won totally 15 oscars? But I still think that some people say it's boring and not worth to watch (not me). I'm not pissed of cause of you gave your opinion, but I hope I would enjoy the movie (never been a garfield fan) | |

| it wasn't the best movie...but it was alright....it was also really short (86 minutes or somethin). I enjoyed it because i was with friends and jlh was in it (wow she looked so pretty). It had some funny parts, but you have to remember it's for kids. You have to judge it in context. Anyways, with love in it, it was worth seeing. |

Love looked good no doubt & there were some funny moments & Bill Murray as "Garfield" was good casting in my eyes... Again it's a family movie & good one to 6/10 for me... |

| Because JLH was in it I was there the second day it was playing. The theater was packed during the day we went but like everyone else says it was mostly kids. But it didnt matter to me.I found it heart warming and a funny movie.JLH looked so pretty but yeah she didnt have alot of character in it because it was a Garfeild movie. It kinda got me a little upset  because she was the main reason why I wanted to see it in the first place .I know some people didn't like it  but we're all entitled to our own opinion. She could be in a black and white film about world war 1 and I would go see it.Anyways I grew up watching Garfeild and with JLH starring in it makes it twice as better. | 19 August it'll be here in the Netherlands, but I heard something that really sucks BIGTIME!!!! Shrek 1 & 2, Harry Potter 1,2 & 3 for example, they all have 2 versions here in the cinema. 1 is dutch for the kids and 1 is just the orginal US version. But with Garfield it looks like there's only a dutch version    I can't believe it!!!!!!!!! Finally I can see her in the theathers and then I hear a dutch voice. I really hate this soo much that I even don't know or I would go to see it. I heard the dvd comes out in October, so that's also not far away. |
