No Regis and Kelly show

ABC has extended the coverage of GMA, so there is no Regis and Kelly show televised today. Hopefully the show is taped and re-aired at a later date.

Talk about over coverage of a story, just terrible, nothing against Reagan, but come on, geez, do we really need this much? I think not

What a crappy morning, first my pc crashes seconds before Love on the Early Show then no Love on Live :( This ain't friday the 13th but it sure feels like it!

Yeah like Conan was saying last night the American people have too much coverage with Reagan and it's so overwhelming and excessive. Nothing against Reagan though because he is imo the second best President of the 20th century. I'm really disappointed but if they decide to reshchedule it for a later date like next week or something then that's okay with me.

Its overkill for sure. I heard that presidents have a choice whether they want all this or not. Nixon decided against all of this which is why we haven't had one of these since Johnson died.

I think they should just let the man rest in peace.

yeah -- the selfish part of me is annoyed, because I bet Regis and Kelly would be a great fit for Jennifer -- the giddy energy and fun, silly atmosphere. Hopefully they taped it and it will air next week. Yes, let Mr. Reagan rest in peace already ... it's all too much. We actually "lost" him to Alzheimer's years ago, which is probably why this feels especially overdone at this point. If he had been in the public eye off and on, up until the end, his death would seem more shocking and immediate and the coverage might seem more fitting.

guys, i love jenny and want to see her just as much as anybody, but coverage on what GW has declared a national day of mourning for our former President is not surprising at all...and frankly, more important than any interview by any star on regis & kelly.

you guys will get your wish though, as i expect this to be the LAST day of heavy coverage for Reagan.

I was going to see Garfield, but i'm leaning toward Riddick....what say ye?

hmmm..this is interesting. The Rock on Tv website has removed the Regis and Kelly appearance altogther, and still have the ones from yesterday listed.

I could swear last night during Wheel of Fortune, they had a preview for "on the next Live" and I heard Antonio Banderas from Shrek2 was the guest, and from what two others have confirmed, maybe this show was cancelled yesterday.

Watchin' Seacrest right now and it's also a rerun. I wonder if any shows were taped today or everything went out the window because of the national mourning day. I don't know about the US but sometimes in Canada it'll mean a day off for some people.

My guess is it'll simply be canceled since all these shows were planned around Love being in NY. She did mentionned on Today that she was leaving real soon for Budapest to do A Christmas Carol.

Oh and forget the taping, the show is called LIVE [img]tongue.gif[/img] right?

There's still a chance we'll get a Regis event then. This is history and the stations are all jumping on the bandwagon to cover this. I think this coverage of Reagan is a good thing. Not for Love but for the nation in a way. I don't agree with the "no mail deliveries" today though. [img]graemlins/ohwell.gif[/img]

I'm really disappointed that Love's interview was cancelled altogether. Of all the morning shows she was going to be on, Cold Pizza, Today, Early Show, and R&K, I was looking forward to the R&K one the most. IMO the news have already been doing too much coverage but I never thought it was that bad until they started cancelling other things so they could just keep going on with the coverage. I mean as if the time already allocated to them isn't enough when all they do is cover Reagan. Oh well..... :(

Anyway, there was mass confusion about
which shows with JLH would air due to,
of course, topical news...

But, although shows COULD have been pre-
recorded and then delayed-aired later,
the fact is: stuff airing after June 11
would lose impact.

Somehow "The Early Show" seems to have
made it to the Internet (or something)
and Love probably did live shows in the
East Coast on Thursday, pre-recorded the
Early Show; and probably came back on
Friday... :rolleyes:

I doubt they tape any Regis since it's called "Live with Regis and Kelly". ;)

Checking out next week's Regis schedule... I don't see Love rescheduled as yet. Time is of the essence so she may not appear for Garfield? Bummer.
