Don't look at this as an actual review, it may simply be yet another poke at Love's perkiness. If you read the article (if you want to call it an article) the person never admits seeing the show at all. They're only squawking on the sidelines, making fun of Love and the whole concept. They may still cry when they see it, but they are likely reviewing the TV commercial.

I have a feeling I'm going to agree with this reviewer...I just hate the theme of the show. I'll still watch for Love's sake though.

Ultimately, critics don't matter... Nobody ever knows what will be a hit. All we can do is hope that GW is, and hope that CBS supports it and gives it time to develop a following!

ilovelove noticed the same thing I noticed -- that this is not a review of Love's show but a review of an INTERVIEW with Love. Love's fans know she has a natural enthusiasm and positive outlook -- it's part of why we love her. But I can see how some of her quotes can seem over-the-top. Not every project or character is going to be the most amazing thing ever, and so that consistently over-positive overview can invite cynicism from people who are prone to dislike her. Having said that, I'm sure Love is genuinely enthusiastic about GW and that led to some of the gushing about the show and the character. She's had some bad luck with indie films not being released like they should be and a sitcom that was shot, delayed, re-shot, ordered and then cancelled before it ever aired. So I'm sure she's happy to have a quality project to talk about.
And ronald: when you say other people have seen "previews" and not liked GW, it's the same situation as this ... they're prejudging based on what they think of JLH and NOT after having seen the entire show.
Like the snarky remarks that Washington Post writer made about Love "perkily playing a dead woman" in "If Only" -- as if that movie were some silly-throwaway comedy. It was obvious she hadn't seen it.
The GW reviews I would worry about would be those that judge the show based strictly on the show itself -- and still don't like it. But as McFan says, there's no telling what will be a hit and many times, critics aren't right ...
