News on Love's Show

Yes, but the bad news is that if it's not an INSTANT success it will be taken off and replaced. I have just read a bunch of articles about how ABC is looking to capture Tuesday, Friday and Monday (once Football is over) nights ratings. They are throwing several different new shows at viewers hoping some of them catch on right away. So,reading between the lines, if a new show doesn't catch on very quickly it will be dumped and something else put in it's place.

The best bet is to find people that have Neilson boxes in their houses, hold them hostage on Friday nights and tune that TV in to Love's sitcom. [img]smile.gif[/img]

As long as it's funny and JLH brings the sexy, it should do fine.

Of course, if her character is a single mother, you know that a lot of the comedy is going to revolve around the kid knowing more than any of the adults. Because we know that really happens in the real world.

I think that Friday time slot was just speculation by The Hollywood Reporter, I don't think ABC has announced anything yet.

As for the ratings, if it were to take over that timeslot in Friday, I'm not sure they'd expect for it to be an instant success but more than likely look for an improved performance over the show that it was replacing and see how it holds on to its audience through the weeks to judge if it is worth bringing back or not. They'd have to be realsitic about the constraints about any new show they put in a time slot that hasn't done well all year long.

The pilot did indeed lean on her son's character heavily, even tying the plotline with his feelings at the end. It wasn't bad at all, it just seemed to be lacking in the comedic writing. It's new, we should see something better for these next episodes. I sincerely doubt they want to just dump an Ed O'Neill project after only one or two episodes unless the writing just can't come up with more for him and Love.

Since it was reported somewhere that ABC executives didn't like it that JLH had black hair in the pilot, is the pilot going to be done over with her hair being its natural brunette color?
