Obviously, Love's appeal is far fetching. How did you guys come across Love in the first place? How well-known and/or well-liked is she in your neck of the woods? How big a deal is the language barrier? Though the Internet makes it a lot easier to follow her, how do you keep up? Were you a fan before you were really online? It's amazing to me how you guys are so well-informed and such great fans. Her work isn't nearly as available to you as it is in the States, and I'd bet access to it is more expensive accordingly. Isn't technology great? We can come together here from all around the world, united by our admiration for such a special person. We can communicate instantly, often in a foreign language, over such great distances and over many time zones. It's easy to take it all for granted, especially the younger folks who have pretty much always had the web. Can you imagine life without it now? It'll be interesting to see what you all think. Thanks in advance for chiming in . -B P.S. Don't forget about the file sharing thing I'm trying to get together. It'll especially help those of you who didn't have access to her appearances on American TV show, etc. ;) |

It's hard to follow her career in the UK even though she has filmed two films over here, and I hear she would really like to date a English guy and if he was a vet and a Manchester United supporter (sorry Carl ;) ) that would be her dream come true... I think the 'Love Bug' has spread all over the world and long may it contuine... LOVE YOUNG GIFTED & GORGEOUS |

She is wearing a loose red jumper with her hair in a pony tail. In the shot she is spinning. If someone maybe Mo could track down that specfic shot/pic it would be great. I don't know how/why I was watching Party of Five that night. I think I was channel surfing. Ever since then I have watched Love on the TV, listened to her music and my favourite watch her on the silver screen. |

| Lovely ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ofcourse i already heared of her, that she was an actress, but i think i first really noticed Love in I know what you did last summer, (ofcourse i had already seen Sister act 2, but i didnt knew it was her yet) and i thought of myself, wow, this is a great actress, so the first thing i did, was go on the internet (ofcourse) to the internet movie database (imdb.com) to find a list with all her movies so i could see some. well, and after that, it was 2002 (yeah, im a fan for only 2 years, im ashamed!) i think, her single Can i go now came out on radio's and i thought, hey, she also sings, what can she do more? so i spent more and more time on the internet, trying to find as much info as possible, i bought magazines with interviews and became a fan. so, thats how i got to know about her. here in Holland she's not that big at all, i only know of 4 dutch fans beside me, and that includes idoloveLove and katie_fan. i think there are more but im not sure. so, thanks to the technology i know all of you guys, and without it i dont think i would be a fan, just becouse i just wouldnt know enough about her. and for the languagebarrier, i dont know about idoloveLove and katie_fan, but i do believe that anything is possible, if you want to. i always wanted to speak and understand English so now i do my best in school, listen to english music (its hard to avoid it, isnt it? ;) ) and i read english books. now im not saying my english is even close to perfect, but i do understand most of it and i can speak it, way better then my classmates, who arent interested in english. its not that im a really smart kid, its just that i want it so badly, like, i really dont care about German, so the only time when i hear it, is in school (and when my german granny comes over), so my marks are not as good as my marks in english, you see, cause i dont really WANT to. so, push yourself to the limit and you'll see the best results! lol, and the only way i can keep up with all the news about Love, is here, on this forum, and just on the internet. i grew up in a world of internet so i cant imagine life without it. i also think this forum is absolutely amazing, isnt it just great to find only Love fans over here? its great to talk to people who like her as much (and maybe even more) as i do! so put your hand together for... THE INTERNET!!! love, Jennifer |

| As an actress Love is known in almost any country in the world I think. Now and then they pay attention to her here in Holland. The most US movies come out here anyway, so there's always some news. I first saw her in IKWYDLS (or maybe House Arrest) , cause I really those thriller/horror movies. I had seen Scream of course, so I kinda new what to expect. I also watch it cause Sarah Michelle Gellar played in it, that was at least one actress I knew about. I always liked watching movies since I was a kid. But actors and actress didn't interest me at all. I would say, 10 years ago I couldn't hardly name 10 actors/actresses. And I also didn't understand that being a fan thing. If it was a singer or actor, for me it was all the same. When I see girls/boys on tv screaming for their idol, I really thought what's wrong with them? I for sure thought I won't be like that ever, or even to understand those people. After IKWYDLS I saw Love once in some teenage magazine. Just a poster nothing more. She looked like the next actress for me. I didn't care at all! Of course when you grow up, I found some actresses really attractive. Like: Alyssa Milano, Salma Hayek, Elizabeth Hurley (way too old for me :D ). After seeying some more pics of Love and watching ISKWYDLS, I found her more attractive. But that doesn't mean being a fan. Then I heard the songs: How Do I Deal, Everywhere I Go and You Make Me Smile. I guess one other song, but I don't remember. I think that really made the change! The more I heard her sing the more I loved it! And the album Barenaked is just really great to listen to! Especially Barenaked, You and First Time. I can listen to them over and over again. So I like her music more than her acting. In all these years I heard so many things about her and watched so many videos and I read also many things. So that I kinda can guess what kind of a person she is. I can't find a reason for me to not be a fan. I think I can for sure say she is and will be my alltime numero uno!!! I have to say that the most movies she makes, isn't my genre at all. But I will watch them all! And of course I really would like it if there will be a 5th album soon! Also that smile of hers is something that gets my all the time. Lately I think that she isn't that beautiful as she was in the time around 1997-2002. But that smile is still mesmerzing. Someone told me that it is a killersmile and I certainly agree with that! To keep up with the news, I just need the mostly the internet for it. If I was just a lonley fan here in Holland without internet, then it would be pretty hard to stay a fan. Cause you hear almost nothing here. Once in a while you see a movie here (mostly the 2 summer movies) but that's it. Really no tv show. No Leno, no Today Show, no Daily Show. Just nothing of that all. MTV had mtv bash and Punk'd, that was at least something. But if there isn't a movie with her then it's all silence. Oh I forgot something. Her music didn't do it that bad here. Can I Go Now reach place 8 and Barenaked 33 I think. So you heard the songs on the radio and the clips on tv. And also the album was released here in Holland with the singles Barenaked and Can I Go Now. So in that time she got some attention. Sometimes she's also in a magazine here. But or the information is crap or they get the interview somewhere for the net and put it in the mag. Nothing really usefull I guess. Knowing people through internet and just using the internet that is really the main thing. Internet is great Last thing I want to mention. I was never good in languages. I still make mistakes in dutch over and over again. English was the biggest problem of all of them. I didn't understand any of it. When I heard the word this, I wrote dis  I never learned it well. Untill I became a Love fan. Her language is english so I had to learn it. So I read and wrote a lot and talking to you guys is really helping me. Already someone called my english excellent :D OK I wouldn't say it's perfect but I understand 95% of it. Well there's actually one problem being a Love fan is my wallet :D I don't even have a creditcard, I should be actually glad about that ;) |

| I first became a fan after watching Trojan War. I remember thinking ' why the hell is he going after her (Marley Shelton) when the other one (Love, of course)is much better?' We're quite lucky in the UK because most of the shows she appears on, Leno,Conan etc. are shown over here. Her work is quite available over here, well, it was. I brought all of her albums at my local HMV except for Love Songs, which i'm still having trouble getting hold of. I say 'was' because i checked recently and could no longer find any of her albums. And apart from Little Miss Millions, House Arrest, Trojan War and the Suburbans, all of her other movies are easily available. This isn't actually a bad thing because i ordered my copy of Trojan War on vhs from a place in Ohio. A brand new copy, shipped half way around the world for a grand total of about £7. Bargain, and it arrived in less than a week Without the internet i would still be a fan, albeit, a less informed fan. The internet rocks, and this board rocks double |

| That's Amore! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I became her fan only quite recently with TOYL in 2000 when I noticed this girl and said to myself: ‘Wow! What a smile! That's really the girl of my dreams!’ In truth PO5 was broadcasted even here in Italy but I never watched the show because it was aired in the morning (damn school!) and especially I didn't know WHO was in! Then I've begun to watch her new movies to the cinema (the Heartbreakers, the Tuxedo) and some of the old ones like the 2 Summers and Can't hardly wait (I love stupid movies but honestly this one sucks for me too!). Instead I have still to watch the others. Now thanks to Internet I've becomen a much bigger fan than before for sure because I can find lots of news, pics and vids. Moreover I've found out that she's not only a beautiful girl but she's really special as a person and that made me love her the more. However, without the Net, all of this wouldn't be possible because she's not very famous here (but I’m trying to spread the Love bug ) and unfortunately magazines and TV do never speak about her. Moreover we can't see the American shows (Only since three months it's posssible to see the J.Leno and Letterman shows even here but not for me because I haven't Sky Tv yet. Mum and Dad, open the wallet! :D ) As for the language, it's a problem for me because my english is not very good. I can understand almost everything but I have some difficults in writing. I take a life to write. So I'm trying to improve it also watching her movies both in Italian (sometimes the dubbings suck) and English in DVD. Conclusion: Thanks to God we have Internet and this amazing forum! |

I disagree. While it's not perfect, I've never had a problem understanding you. Many native speakers have trouble writing in English, including myself sometimes ;) . You guys are too hard on yourselves. |

| I first noticed her in the IKWYDLS trailer on tv. It was the scene where she shouted "What are you waiting for huh?!!" I thought what a gutsy girl. Not much info/material on her in my country. The press here reserve that kind of exposure for the britneys and the aguileras. I got my own internet connection ard that time, and the local channel began showing PO5 as a late night show. My interest grew even more from there. More than anything else,it was her smile that made me a fan. [ August 27, 2004, 10:48 AM: Message edited by: Carnager ] |
