Classic old shot, with a fake or maybe even stuffed bird. I think Love may have been overdramatizing her fowl fear on Leno. ;)

There's an alternate shot of Love looking towards the camera and not kissing that same bird as well.

Here's that alternate shot with Love's excessive eye makeup, and yes the bird is still dead. I've seen one other alternate shot which is a close-up of Love's face, minus the bird.

You're right there are a few shots when Love visited Ringling Bros many years ago. Just because she said she dislikes clowns doesn't mean she has a crippling ailment and can't stand next to one or be photographed with one, like a Jerry Springer guest.

I used to love bugs as a kid, now I can stand them. I really hate touching most of them(especially spiders). I want no part of them. You can develop phobia's from something that you haven't always feared.

Just for the record fear of clowns(that's an odd phobia) is Coulrophobia and fear of birds is Ornithophobia. I don't know why I felt it necessary to share that, I just did.

That freaky clown may be the most famous clown in the USA. He's lost most of his stardom now. Years ago he even had his own TV show. His daily "live" TV show had a room full of kids that he'd have contests and play games with. He also showed cartoons, amongst them were Bozo cartoons too. His strange hairdo was his goofy signature. I don't even think he's known by most people now. Ronald McDonald is probably the most well-known clown now?

Hehehe, I doubt Love could ever watch Killer Klowns From Outer Space. Now THERE'S a nightmare bunch of clowns. Ugly as sin and full of evil alien motives. I think it was a pretty good movie for the "insanely campy clown posse" genre.
