| I thought maybe that was just a rumor when it was brought up before. I'm not sure I'm crazy about this. It's hard for sitcoms to make it in TV these days. Everyone is so reality TV and drama oriented it seems! I hope the show is a success but I wouldn't want it to take away from her movie making. Although this way we will get a weekly dose of Love. |

Love isn't a strong comedian. She had some powerful support in HeartBreakers. If they get a comic veteran sidekick it may stand some remote chance. If ABC shells out some money for decent writers who knows. She'll do better on the big screen. I look forward to this nonetheless. More Love is good Love. |

| Well, I don't know that most people in sitcoms are comedians by trade, so I don't really see that as a problem. She is charismatic enough to overcome that in my opinion, espeically on the small screen. Whether or not it will do well would probably come down to the writing, the time slot and how long they give the show to find an audience. As for the writing team, Sachs and Judah are going to be writing at least the pilot and I assume if it gets a full order a good portion of the episodes. They have a good history in terms of the critics, ratings has been another story. We'll see. No reason to be so gloomy though, if it makes it on the schedule, the networks (save good ole' FOX) have been giving their sitcoms a lot longer than they were a few years ago, especially ABC which has stuck with new sitcoms for rather long periods of time over the last few years. Checking out which shows have been canned the only new sitcom not on Fox that has been cancelled so far this season is Coupling. So I suspect it'll get a pretty good shot. I look forward to it. Anyway, thanks for the news. [ February 17, 2004, 01:47 AM: Message edited by: TC Visitor ] |

| I found this... First time I've heard she is going to play a single mom in the show. http://comingsoon.net/news.php?id=3501 In related TV news, ABC has greenlit comedies starring Jennifer Love Hewitt and a comedian who goes by the name Earthquake, while Aisha Tyler (Friends) has landed a sitcom pilot at CBS. The Earthquake project will star the comedian as an unlucky father of four who, with his wife, struggles to make ends meet. In Hewitt's show she'll star as a sports reporter and single mom. And Tyler will play Melanie, a sophisticated single New Yorker who makes the move from a small, edgy fashion house to a large corporation. |

| Here's a bit more info. about it: ABC OKs Two Comedy Pilots; CBS Likes Tyler By Nellie Andreeva ABC and CBS stayed on the laugh track Friday with pickups of untitled comedy pilots starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, comedian Earthquake and Aisha Tyler. ABC's Hewitt project, based on a story by Hewitt, and "Just Shoot Me" alumni Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah, will feature the former "Party of Five" star as an up-and-coming sports producer who unwillingly becomes an on-camera reporter. The network's Earthquake project, loosely based on Earthquake's experiences, centers on the self-proclaimed unluckiest man alive who tries to make ends meet with his wife and four children. CBS' Tyler project revolves around a sophisticated, single New York woman who goes from working at an edgy downtown fashion house to a job at a big corporation. | From what I've read around the internet, these guys also wrote for "freeks and geeks". It could be a good thing for Love but I have to wonder why she's going back to television. I understand that lately, the line between TV and hollywood is kinda blurred but still, it seems she's doing a bunch of different things (music, movies and TV) without being greatly successful in any. Don't get my wrong, I love most of what she's done and if that keeps her happy then good for her. I'm simply afraid of the media's reaction. What's next, Broadway? If so, I'll be the second in line! (scalpers are usually first ) |
