| Unless it's listed as another topic I didn't see anyone reviewing the new show so hopefully I'm not being redundant. I thought it was great. Not as spooky as I'd hoped it'd be (they have time to work on that, though) but the emotional value of the show was great. It emphasized the personal relationships between the living and the dead a lot more than your typical ghost-themed show. I really hope it survives but unless they move it off that kiss of death Friday time slot I fear for it (also, most of the new shows I like suffer terrible fates so maybe it's me too if it doesn't make it). |

| Member ![]() | If it can keep 11.4 million viewers watching on friday I think it will stay there and be successful (CBS is likely already happy). Disclaimer: I didn't watch the ghost whisperer premiere last week but I may watch it this friday. Separately, I highly recommend Alyson Hannigan's new show "How I met your mother" at 8:30 on mondays also on CBS, it's funny. |

| Senior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I saw the first episode twice already,... for those who saw it,... didn't you guys notice when Melinda was driving her car a dog came by, crossed the street making her stop the car and go that soldier's monument? It seemed that could be a dog's ghost. For me it would be interesting to see not only people's ghosts but animals or pets as well, like dogs or cats. These animals have a great affinity with humans and their ghosts can be some sort of spirit guides. I know it may sound corny but i think it could work for the stories. I don't think we have seen the 'animal ghost' thing on tv or movies a lot before so it could be something fresh at least for one or two episodes. I hope it was a dog ghost and not one of those lame tv coincidences. I wonder what unfinished business a dog ghost might have. Maybe the dog has to find a way to tell Melinda that little Timmy is stuck in the well before it can cross over. |

| I think it'd be interesting if they added spiritual cats to the storyline. They say felines can see spirits supposedly so it'd be cool if she had some sort of cat guide to help her along at times (being careful not to get on the campy side of that, obviously). One of the sidebars of first Crow movie that was included in the book and I think should have been a little more emphasized in the movie. Historically, cats are much more tied to spirits, death, dying, and the like than dogs from Egypt to the Dark Ages. |

| I have seen 2 episodes. And love it. Its very well written, I like how its not the same thing every week its a new story. I think it will do good. There is hardly anything good on Fridays anymore so I think it for sure has a chance! Its a great way to start the weekend. Jennifer does such a remarkable job on the show, She truly is very talented! |

On the show itself, does anyone else find it a little TOO gut-wrenching? I mean this, not as a JLH fan too, in that I've been within a hair of tears now in both of the first two episodes and I'm not normally that girly-mannish when watching TV. I was hoping for a show that would keep me interested in the spiritual world but not keep squeezing my heart w/these emotional scenes. It's getting hard to watch. Maybe I'm having a male mid-life crisis at 27 or something, I don't know.

| One more reason for me to believe Carson Daly is evil! I don't know how a guy that lame can get women like JLH and Tara Reid (he was also working on getting Brittany Spears too). Wouldn't the fact that the majority of his fans are pubescent teenage girls turn a real woman OFF to him? I'm definitely not a 10 on the "Catch" scale but I guarantee I can score higher than that lame-o! |

With your guarantee we'll watch for you in the tabloids alongside Brad Pitt. With all these characters you'll likely need to come up with some fame and lots of cash. [ October 04, 2005, 02:56 PM: Message edited by: i love love ]

| I never said Love was lame for dating him, I just don't see what the heck is so appealing about the guy? He looks like any other ordinary dude and is worshipped by teenage girls. How is that different from your average frat boy? The guy's nothing special in the looks, success, or body type departments so what has he got that your average college freshman doesn't other than having his mug on that teenage request live show, really? I'm not jealous, I just can't figure out women. He's the modern day Scott Baio for cryin' out loud! |
