Good lord -- 113 megs for just under six minutes of video??? That seems a bit excessive. I was going to compress and convert them over to AVIs, but I can't figure out what the heck I have that can handle M2V files -- what the hell are those??

they are mpeg2 files.

Do I need a special codec to view them? Windows media wont play it.

Use Elecard to play these.
Here's a link to download it. This was Don's player of choice and all his wonderful vids can be played on this puppy.

You can use WMP to play the files, given you have the right codecs installed, but nothing I've got can edit them...

You can also try renaming the m2v extension to mpg. That may help.

In the directory, there's VLC there, it will play mpeg2. completely freeware, will play dvds too.
