| Hi. I wonder if you can help me. Where can I buy original JLH photographs? Up til now I have only bought them in ebay and I do not know if prices are ok or more expensive than normal. I have searched in amazon but they only have very old items. Can you please inform me of a web of any agency where these photos are sold? I would be interested in 4 x 6 or 8 x10 Love photos in the opening of Harrods sales. Any other indication or your suggestions shall be welcomed. Thanks a lot. PaBLoHeW |

| My advice to you: buy a good inkjet color printer, buy some glossy photo paper and print your own pictures from high quality images found on this board and around the net. You will surely get more "bang for your buck". I'm simply not a big fan of ebay. [ May 10, 2004, 02:26 PM: Message edited by: AlexM1dn1ght ] |

EBAY is chuck full of decent photos but, of course, the drawback is finding good sellers. The two top quality sellers are hollywoodstarsunlimited or candidstarphotos. You have to be patient and not bid high. These sellers regularly relist their images so don't fall for a bidding war. There's a newer fierce market on EBAY which is selling digital images now. So be very careful. Email and ask a seller if they are selling true photos printed at a lab on REAL photographic equipment or if they're just pirate sellers printing at home. The difference with real photographic imaging is the longevity and quality of the final product. Real photographs are created on silver based photographic paper and they don't fade for a very very long time (proving inkjet is second rate). An EBAY seller like "wannahaves" sells digital jpegs. If they're printed professionally you can't tell the difference so be careful. Once again the main trick - don't bid high. Wait for the relist. Another quality online photo outlet is moviemarket.com. I believe they charge around $6 per 8x10 now? The market cost used to be $5 but it has begun to increase in the past couple of years. | |

| With so many labs (even walmart) offering to professionally print digital images from diverse media (mem stick, flash, etc.) could one bring any files and get them printed at a reasonnable price? Remember also that pablo1hew is located in Spain which I guess makes shipping from the States a pain in the butt. Also, in reply to i love love, I totally agree with what you said about the shelf life of an inkjet print. One solution is to get them plastified but it adds to the overall cost. As far as quality goes, you can get very decent prints these days out of inkjet. Of course it's still not quite profesionnal and it's often hard to get the right color balance and contrast. It would be interesting to see a side by side cost comparison of both solutions. I really have no idea how many images one could get out of a cartridge? |

They're ridiculously expensive too. Indeed, from Walmart to Costco you can get amazing real photos made from jpegs. That's what is flooding EBAY these days. Pablo might want to buy from "wannahaves" if he doesn't mind digital prints. They're located in Holland I believe. There is also an outlet of moviemarket.com in the UK. The reason I mention both hollywoodstarsunlimited and candidstarphotos is the fact that they are real photographers shooting brand new events. Besides traditional analog sourced slides and negatives they also sell digital sourced images too. |
