in the love-punk'd-episode: Love comes in and says: Jennifer Hewitt. no Love Hewitt, no Jennifer Love Hewitt. Just Jennifer Hewitt. I thought Love was such an important part of her name for her, and that she prefers it that people call her Love cause there are so much Jennifers in the world (like ME!) I thought it was kinda weird that she didnt say her middle name.BTW, most people only know her as Jennifer LOVE Hewitt. Is it just me or...?

i may be mistaken, but in an interview didnt she say her parents name her Love and her little brother gave her the name Jennifer because of a crush he had on a neighbor named Jennifer and he liked the name? i know most everyone i hear talk about her in interviews refers to her as Love, not Jennifer. that would mean her true first name is Love, not Jennifer. if im not mistaken i saw this in the interview she did with Jules Asner on E!.

the thing I heard 'bout the name LOVE was that her mother's best friend had the name Love and she promised that IF she would have a daughter she'd name her love. But Jennifer is her first name anyway, and i always thought that she used her full name as artist. and if her first name love is, why did she say Jennifer Hewitt on that punk'd episode???

I think she was just trying to save a bit of time while speaking to the receptionist. Though it seems she prefers to go by 'Love,' she's equally comfortable with 'Jennifer.' I don't think it's a big deal [img]smile.gif[/img] .

I for one prefer the full Jennifer Love Hewitt. I do wonder who her mother's friend was since I dated a girl in graduate school at the University of Texas whose middle name was Love. The timing is about right. Guess I will never know.

I'm quite sure her full name is JLH. It may have meant nothing when she said that on Punk'd.

The old story of her mom's friend has been reported before. Her brother Todd liked a girl down the street named Jennifer so that's the history. Love still signs her full name for benefits and special events. In the early promotional photos and even on that Barbie Workout video you see Love Hewitt. Her first CD from Japan also reads Love Hewitt. Sarah Michelle Gellar hasn't altered her name yet, Tiffany-Amber Thiessen did drop her middle name not that long ago. At IMDB.com it even reads:

dropped her middle name, Amber, to be taken more seriously.

I'm not sure how keeping or dropping a middle name would or should have much impact on a career? You'd think talent and maybe even a touch of luck is what matters.

She went by 'Love' when she first started, but added 'Jennifer' to her professional credits after producers for one of her failed shows, I forget which one, thought that 'Love' sounded too sleazy or something. I don't remember if I read that or heard it in an interview, but I have it somewhere either way.

Some actors add middle names to their credits for SAG issues. If someone is already registered under a name, you can't have the same one. Spelling doesn't matter, it's more the pronunciation that counts. That's the deal with SMG; apparently an older actress went by Sarah Gellar.

To sort of clarify the origin of JLH's full name, her older brother thought that Love was too weird to be her first name and suggested Jennifer be added, after the girl he liked down the street, to make it more normal. I do believe that she has always gone by Love with her family.

At any rate, if she wanted to start being called "Foot Pump," it's not a big deal. I like her name as it is, though. It seems to fit, especially the Love part. I'm sure that this discussion was the furthest thing from her mind when she went to that "meeting," though...lol

Maybe someone from her staff will bring them to her and she writes u back.This board is full of people who have never met her or even been close to her at all.So how should they know why she didnt say her middle name or her measures or why she had a blue jeans on that day or why shes dating some guy no one knows?????Its her life,so why dont all of u stop that crap???
